I've recently played with the "MPEG Noise Reduction" while watching broadcast HDTV. By setting it to High, it seems to reduce a lot of compression artifacts, at the expense of sharpness. Different channels have different levels of compression, so I need to adjust the setting all the time. I wish it had a per-channel memory for this stuff.
