Those numbers are from VGchartz. Someone said that their numbers are estimates and not very accurate.

Talking XBOX306 games are not better than PS3

PS3 games are just as good if not better than Xblow 360, the reason for so many people buying the Xblow 360 is that so many of them crap out and they don't want to wait for MicroBlow to replace them

Hmmmm, if that was ONE day of sales, multiply that by 7 and you have 350,000 units! Not bad for a week!

If the PS3 didn't have a bluray player, there is no way I would have ever bought it. XBOX 360 has far better exclusives IMO - Gears, Bioshock, Halo, Mass Effect (pretty sure this is exclusive), and Too Human (which I think looks amazing).

Most other good games are on both consoles, and at least right now, the EA games play better on a 360.

Live is also way better than the PSN (even if you do have to pay for it).

There is no point in paying more for the PS3 if you only play games unless you absolutely need Final Fantasy, Metal Gear, or God of War.

Anyway - as for the PS3 not being used for many movies, I think packing in SM3 was a brilliant idea. Gives people an easy way to see how much better a blu ray looks in comparison to their regular DVDs and I think they'll definitely consider buying more on their own. They could have just as easily packed in a game if they wanted, but there is a reason they didn't and it's not just becuase the movie costs less. I only wish Sony was smart enough to include an HDMI cable or at least component cable so that people will definitely see the difference. Since you want people to really experience HD and so many people already own PS2s (which use the same cable), they shouldn't have included composite or should have included both.

Looks like the 40g PS3 sold 50,000 PS3's in 1 day in Japan. What do you think they will sell in America for the 1st week of release?

Gears of War and BioShock aren't real exclusives, you can play them on PC.

Too Human is basically sucking according to everyone who's tried it or looked at a demo, so bad that Silicon Knights is trying to sue Epic over it.

Between Resistance, Folklore, Ratchet and Clank, Heavenly Sword, and Uncharted, there is now enough reason to buy a PS3 for most people, not even including "specialty" games or games coming soon which may or may not be good.

I own both a PS3 and a 360, but be realistic here. The whole "The PS3 has no good exclusives" is so 6 months ago. :P

Sure, but Call of Duty 4 and (apparently) Assassin's Creed are better on PS3. Although I haven't played the latter.

Most 360 games are better. COD4 is the only exception and it's still missing rumble ( for now ). I also saw this on IGN talking about AC. "There is considerable texture pop-in and noticeable framerate issues. Playing back-to-back with the 360 version, it's obvious that Ubisoft did not devote enough resources to the PS3 edition. The framerate is considerably worse, so much so that it begins to affect gameplay in the later levels. You can get through the first two-thirds of Assassin with the framerate being just an annoyance, but it becomes more of an issue for the final third of the missions.
". Looks like another port.

The PS3 version of Oblivion, Marvel Heroes, Dirt, Skate and Ghost Reacon are all ranked as high as the 360.

World wide hey HE may not be that far off..in france already 100,000 sold
and in JAPAN 37,000 TO 50,000 is the reported sales in 1 day so who knows
that still does not include the US sales..nor the sales in the UK

Looks like the VGCharts numbers for North America the week ending 11/10 (I think that's the first full week of the 40g model) just got posted:
wii: 192,482
360: 173,895
PS3: 63,788

These numbers are quite alarming to me as even after a $100 pricedrop the PS3 is still being outsold in America (I think it's doing better in Europe and Japan) almost 3:1 by the 360 and more than 3:1 by the Wii

what can Sony do to turn this around?

If those are correct Im dissapointed the PS3 40g did not help sales out

I'm not sure how accurate the VGChart numbers are.

Looks like the 40g did increase PS3 sales some 10k from last week (from about 55k last week to about 65k this week), but it seems to be less of an increase than hoped for and doesn't seem to be nearly enough to catch the 360 or Wii, at least here in the US

how can SONY turn it around...they are right now but you are looking in the wrong place its not America its Japan....America is important no DOUBT but lets recap and look at the NUMBERS:

this is why:

this is as of 06'

the total # of games made for each system

by each platform cycle the number of total games per platform:

1'st playstation 1: 4,917 (after 11 years)
the playstation 2: 4,184 (after 6 years and still going)
the playstation portable: 351 (after 3 years and still going)

note:
what are region codes for japan and North America for playstation 3 Game Software.this time.....Its the same region code....

http://www.playstation.com/business.html

compared to the US which had less than 2000 games for the playstation 2

see a trend.....4,000+ games...

look at the total number of game's so far for each region
than look at the total number of systems sold per region....there is twice as many games made in the japanese and Asian market but only half the total number of systems sold in japan 23 million vs in the North American and Europe markets both 30+ million systems sold ..

now look at total software shipped:

once again japan has the lowest shipped but the highest number of games being made are out of japan...

(1,210) total playstation 2 games for the North America
(1,769) total playstation 2 games for Europe
(4,184) total playstation 2 games for JAPAN and Asian Countries and regions including South KOREA

If you truly believe this then you are not objective. Oblivion for example is *clearly* better on PS3. There is no argument for 360 at all.

Quote from GameSpot:

Quote:
PS3 owners are blessed with a slightly more solid frame rate
So IGN says 360 is better at frame rate, Gamespot says PS3 is.

It may actually be a wash, but you can't say that AC is clearly better on 360.

Any game built from the ground up for PS3 tends to favor the PS3. The problem is most companies are not doing this.
