Yawn indeed. But bless all you DMB fan's little hearts, out there, defying those evil anti-DMB trends. You're gonna save the world I tell ya.

on a side note. I wonder if Stan Winston ever came up with a design for a Predator's vagina before he died.

It is fact that filmmakers prefer their actors to look like wax statues. It makes the film live on for eternity. If you see too much detail in a person's face, then that quickly dates the person, thus dating the film. All the famous filmmakers prefer waxing and DNR. It's a fact!

As a musician for 11 years, I find that people who do not like DMB are not musicians, or are not technical listeners. ALL musicians will like DMB or at least will respect them and will never badmouth them. I find this to be completely true in every example that I have ever seen throughout my life.

There is no denying that DMB's first 3 albums are some of the best albums ever conceived, especially in the context of the 90s (Crash I would argue is the best 90s album, period). Most everything past these three albums have became more mainstream and less technical (for the most part).

Where do you think The Dark Knight got it's musical influence from? How about Two Step? Exact same notes, exact same sound, exact same tempo. It's clearly the intro from Two Step.

Now, enough derailing.

Shhh... your obsession is showing.

Look, I don't agree with the guy on several points, I have gotten into arguments with him in the past, and I don't agree with his views of AVS. But seriously, e-stalking him? Is a guy not allowed to change his mind?

By the way, just to contribute, I will keep my old copy, will not buy the new copy, and really like some of DMB's albums, specifically Crash. I love his "Watchtower" rendition quite a bit. Oh, and I never thought about musically inspiring The Dark Knight- that's an interesting idea that I'll have to follow up on. (I can already see Beast twitching in the corner).

DMB's version of Watchtower is hot! Love it, especially on the Live in Chicago release where Tim Reynolds was a guest. Fantastic.

Also, never thought about that musically inspiring The Dark Knight either, I agree that certainly is an interesting idea.

We should start a DMB related, taping trading thread as to avoid completely high jacking anymore of the Predator fiasco.

P.S. Hey Aramis Did you ever end up grabbin some Sennheiser HD280s? If not, my offer still stands, come out to Madison anytime if you want to check some phones out, I'd be happy to assist! Just drop me a PM.

Here is The Dark Knight theme that is played during the IMAX scenes and other many "epic" parts of the movie:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zh0Oh5zF2iA

Here is Dave performing one of the greatest songs known to mankind- Two Step. How anyone can hate this song or performance is impossible. Try not to let your eyes bulge out of your head:

Very much the same influence from Two Step. Dave Matthews will influence your lives whether you like it or not. It's called good music.

I ended up with the Shure SRH 440. Very comfy, decent amount of padding, fit well into my bag and on my head (the concern I had with the Sennheiser HD280), and I really enjoy the sound. I'm guessing they're pretty comparable.

Fender- Yeah, I can hear some similarities. Maybe explains why I love the soundtrack to Dark Knight so much. Oh, and there's a "Watchtower" performance there too if folks are interested.

SORRY ABOUT THE THREAD DERAIL.

Well i can see how it all ties together.

He likes dave matthews....matthews supported john kerry (yes really)....his nickname during the campaign was john "flip-flop" kerry.

change mind/flip-flop....see how it all ties neatly together.

side not:
john kerry mentioned in a predator thread isnt really that wild since 2 guvs were in predator right so.

haha! Come on, there's nothing more tiring than listening to a DMB song. There's nothing more trendy than an aging yuppie (who thinks they're a hippie) who digs Dave Matthews.

and to FendersRule, that comparison with "Two Step" to the "Dark Knight" theme is absolutely ridiculous, the two have barely anything in common. To think TDK's theme is an homage to DMB is almost crazy. I listen to A LOT of music, A LOT...I have close to 1000 albums, and can safely say DMB is a bit of a joke, in the same way that Coldplay and U2 are jokes. Sure those bands made some good songs in their career, but they (and their fans) take their music way too seriously, when there's so much better music out there.

im a musician, ive been involved in music for much longer than 11 years and dave matthews makes me want to gouge my eardrums out. music is all about taste, there is no absolute when it comes to music. from a technical stand point i think this band is incredible:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtFoUboFyPk
but i sure as hell dont expect everyone to like them.

in my opinion Predator is by far one of the best movies of its kind. its such a potpourri of genres its hard to really compare it to anything but i guess the closest is something like Aliens. its definitely up there with Aliens (sci-fi/action/horror)

Let's put it this way - if you liked Terminator Salvation, you should love Predator.

Not really. It's improved greatly by the Rifftrax though.
