I don't know if I really liked Deadwood enough to buy and watch it again, certainly not at that price. But this is great news nonetheless, as HBO keeps working their way through their catalogue of HDTV shows, maybe we'll see them start re-transferring some of their older shows to HD soon.

Rome was about $70 on Amazon once or twice... Not only that you can get Rome for about $60 from the U.K. As long as I can get it that way I'm fine

It will drop sub-100 by release date for sure. If not, everyone can import the (most likely cheaper) UK set like everything else (band of brothers, rome).

sleeper, not likely. sopranos initial prices (pre-release date) never dropped that far. it's only in the 6mo.-1 year margin that they do.

i'll grab this when it hits under 100

Rome = 22 episodes / 2 seasons
Dead = 36 episodes / 3 seasons

I thought it was 3 seasons for Rome???

well, even if that's true, it'll be about $80ish for the U.K. version like all the expensive boxsets in the U.S.

Rome was 2 seasons.

I haven't seen Deadwood so this will be a blind buy just like Rome (which I loved). I won't make the mistake of getting it on release day though lol. Rome dropped to $60 shortly after it was released. So I can wait another year to get Deadwood for a decent price.

Best Buy usually has an HBO sale 50% off every year around nov-dec I believe. This will be the time to purchase. Hopefully this is released before the sale though.

I have never bought any TV series before, I just didn't think I'd ever watch them enough to justify but....I'd likely purchase Deadwood.

It was more of a "movie -miniseries" feel than a TV program, to me anyways.

Deadwood ftw.
