The magic “Sony Box”, (which in this case, is being used for a live 3D event broadcast all over the world) supports the following HD video signals…

1080/59.94i
1080/50i
1080/23.98psF

That first strike by Von Bronckhurst is the best goal of the World Cup that I have seen so far.
It was truly a laser shot from down town.

Hey, JimSD, between bringing home the bacon and watching the Tour de France and the World Cup in the evenings, yesterday was quite chaotic.

Guess who is perched in the top five of the standings so far after the cobblestone section yesterday where people were crashing and dropping like flies?

Ans.- Two former mountain bike champions namely, Cadel E. (from Austrailia) and Ryder H. ( From Oh, Canada)

Shark, speaking of Oh, Canada, even the visiting Queen got into the 3D thing at your local studio …

Who does Penton-Man think is going to win the Final? Holland or Germany?

Well, not quite.

Yes to the YouTube clip which I posted for you folks.
But in regards to the detailed schedule of the afternoon session of the event, of which KubrickFan couldn’t find on the internet (and was specifically interested in the report on the New Reconstruction of Metropolis)…well, that my friend was not on the internet at the time, which is why KubrickFan asked for my assistance in the first place.

Ergo, I copied a scan of the printed program I had as an attachment on my computer onto Blu-ray.com so he and other parties interested in film restoration/preservation could get details of the event in Amsterdam and plan their attendance accordingly.

Call it one of those “Grand Poobah” moments.

Chaotic for the riders yesterday too. Most of them don't seem to like the cobbles much, but it made it interesting for the fans. If I remember right Ryder H. rode for the Gary Fisher MTB team. Glad to see Andy Schleck back in it after a terrible prologue and the crashes the previous day. If healthy, he's one guy that could do something special in the mountains to challenge AC. Looks like this weekend are the first fun mountain stages.

I know of no such thing - if it's on the internet, I take it all personally. Especially Youtube comments.

Meanwhile, Torres is on the bench (yay!), boding very well for me boys.

Oliver, I wish your team well.... in four years.

The Colorado State MTB Champion had some bad luck though...

I'll just be glad when it's over.

At least the event gave us the Shakira song, probably the best song taken from a Fozzie Bear catchphrase EVER.

Well, I know some gringos may not like the song but, fans in South Africa apparently did
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NMkV...eature=channel
as well as in other parts of the world
http://www.billboard.biz/bbbiz/conte...2113958dc953e4

and, if you can’t get *interested* in viewing her in 3D
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PploPgx2inQ

then, I recommend a visit to your local Urologist and ask him for a prescription of 'Vitamin V' to increase blood flow to dem vessels.

P.S.
And no snide comments from Shakira haters in Toronto! either, or I'll post a personal *Gerber* baby YouTube link.

Shakira gives me fever.

Yes , he used to train with Roland Green (the best Canadian mountain biker ever, as far as I'm concerned) on Victoria Island B.C.

Andy S. has a BIG lead for so early in the tour.

Schleck needs a lot more time than he has to be able to even come close to Contador in the TT. I would guess that he'd need a 2-3 minute lead in the final TT; otherwise AC would beat him. Maybe the power of the maillot jaune would help him enough.

No it clearly wasn't - Germany was not as good as in the last matches and Spain was very much improved which I expected. Of course to beat Spain when they are at the top of their game Germany would have to have a very good day, not what they showed yesterday. Despite all the talk of being about as good as Spain it seemed as if they did not believe in their capabilities themselves.

I wonder if Muller would have made a difference - no thanks to the referees for making him miss that match.

Nevertheless, the Blu-ray 1st version vs. 2nd version issues aside, which have by now, probably been beaten well into the ground with nobody convincing anyone else of their point of view, come two weeks or so, I’ll be meeting with someone intimately involved in the production of Predator (no, I’m not a Fox executive) regarding an entirely different matter, who may be able to provide more technical specificity to that vagueness.

In the pursuit of learning more about real world filmmaking, I’ll let you know the result of our discussion.
Would really like to hear about it, especially if they got back to the original elements for this. And if they did - do they still have a backup of the scan with the grain structure intact. Somebody involved with Patton told me that this was not the case for Patton - the original 4k files had not been preserved and so another scan would be needed for a re-release.

And of course we would like to know if it was intended to get rid of pretty much all resemblance of film texture in this or if it was more of a mistake as it allegedly was with Patton.

I admit that halos in textured images are less obvious and maybe there is the mindset of not putting down an otherwise fine release but I still would like for them to be pointed out in order to not make overzealous sharpening an accepted practice. Even the smilebox version of HTWWW was noticably sharpened when compared to the flat one but I cannot remember to have read about anybody mentioning it.

I could see and I did not fall asleep - that is something already. Very interesting to see how this works and how easy it is to handle that particular program.
One shudders to imagine how for Zulu most of the grain was eliminated with a dust buster tool - the settings must have been crazy high!
