I have speakers hooked up obviously...
Which setting do I set it up to watch movies?Dolby Pro Logic or Dolby Movie settings? And when I hook up my ethernet cord I cant get the internet radio to set up...any input? Ive already tried the obvious things in the set up from the menu settings...but when choosing a radio station it says the internets not working... |

I have a question here. Althugh I have connected 7.1 speakers with my 920 however by all means (after reading manual and different adjustments) i am unbale toturn off back speakers and thet stay on all the time.
What i means that whatever blu-ray movie i play, i always hear from back speakers even if i play 5.1, i still hear surround sound from back speakers. I trun off Up/Mix function, back speakers on SB auto but i still hear voice from back spearkers. I even turn off SB=Off and still i hear aound from back speakers. I need that if i play 5.1 audio blu-ray, i should hear 5.1 sound not 7.1 and when i play 7.1 then surround back speakers should automatically get on and should deliver sound. What should i do to get this setup. |

* The LFE channel has up to a maximum of 120 Hz audio information. And the Low Pass Filter of your own sub(s) should be set to it's "Bypass" mode or if not avail, to its highest LPF setting. But some receivers only give you the choice of few x-overs, but it applies to ALL your speakers. It is a 'global' x-over. Last edited by LordoftheRings; 07-04-2010 at 05:25 PM. If I understand your question correctly and assuming you are using the usual powered subwoofer, I think you have it backwards. When you set speakers to small, which engages bass management, the receiver reroutes frequencies below the crossover to the sub instead of sending them to the speakers. The sub gets LFE (the .1 effects channel) plus the rerouted deep bass from the main speakers. The bass management crossover doesn't set any frequencies for the sub. The sub plays whatever you send it. Rather, the crossover determines what frequencies get rerouted from the main speakers to the sub.

Some more questions:
1. In order to reproduce pure 5.1 or 7.1 as per the channels in the movie, is it necessary to keep MCACC on and set auto/surr to 'direct' and SB=on. What if i keep MCACC to off? Shall i be able to get rid of back speakers while playing 5.1, i mean i don't want to mix surround to back speakers while playing 5.1, sound should come from back only when there is 7.1 2. I have noticed that when i set MCACC/EQ to off position i get better treble/shrill/crisp sound from all speakers and as soon i set MCACC/EQ to on, i get little dull (less treble) sound from all speakers. Why is that? |

* Now, to disable your two Back surround speakers, it has to be in the Audio mode you selected, or one of the setup in your Pioneer receiver. Take your time to analyse the situation and you'll find out how. ![]() By the way, sorry if I forgot, but which Pioneer receiver model is yours? And as for why you prefer MCACC off instead of on, it's a personal choice in your own particular room and particular system setup. Please write some lines on procedure on how to get 5.1 only from 5.1 source and not 7.1. 7.1 should be on only when i use 7.1 source. Thanks 1. |

![]() ![]() * But my guess is that perhaps your BD player is not set properly (is it a Panasonic one?), or maybe your Pioneer receiver as an "Auto" audio mode for playing the audio soundtracks as they are originally recorded on the discs. ** Or perhaps, you have your two Back surround speakers engaged for Zone 2? ![]() Last edited by LordoftheRings; 07-10-2010 at 11:14 AM. Have you tried Direct mode? You can choose this simply by clicking on the Auto/Direct button on the remote. Using Direct should allow you to hear your audio sources as the way they were intended to be without any matrixing. Leave your SB as "On". This is the default setting and is not the reason you are getting 7.1 playback from 5.1 sources. It is your Listening Mode.
EDIT: I see you did try this, so disregard....... Last edited by Fors*; 07-08-2010 at 11:57 AM. |

Let me ask this....what do you mean you are unable to switch the surround back speakers when playing 5.1? Are you saying you are still getting 7 channel palyback with 5 channel sources?

I have a quick question:
Should my Pioneer receiver be set to Pure Direct Direct Auto Surround I have it on Pure Direct right now because I think it sounds the best - but is it the natural sound? Also, phase control was on earlier today and it sounded low and muffled.. Is it like a night-time mode? |
