When you get a chance can you glance a few random scenes in a few random episodes? I wanna buy this but I dont want to pay 70 bucks and get stuck with DVD picture quality like I did with Smallville.

Video Quality on this release is 1080p AVC-MPEG 4 on 6 50GB Dual-Layered Discs. Color usage was excellent with a majority of the shots having that 3-D pop to them. The blues and whites of the prisoners' outfits looked great with excellent detail. My only complaint is in some of the darker sequences, the colors (particularly black) seemed to almost smear together. Not the biggest issue IMO, but still noticable. Having seen this entire season on DVD when it came out, and having sampled the series on Fox HD (which I believe was filmed in 1080i), this Blu-Ray release improves the DVD and broadcast image quite a bit. This is one pleasant, consistent image from the folks over at Fox proving that their gloves are off for the upcoming holiday season.

Audio Quality on this release is DTS MA Lossless. As good as the video quality was, imagine my shock in that the audio quality is even better. Actually scratch, the audio quality might be perfect here. Dialogue is simple, clean and never difficult to understand. Dynamic Range is excellent with all the sounds of Fox River coming alive and out of our surrounds. Bass is incredible here as, literally at volume 40/100 on my V20, my table shook. Never does the bass overpower the dynamics or the surrounds. Instead the bass compliments every piece of dialogue, music and action that is occurring. Speaking of surrounds, I've always loved the music of the show. Simply the eerie feel the show's theme creates setting the viewer in the perfect mood for what's about to happen."

I watched the first episode and part of the second last night. Gorgeous PQ. The close-ups of faces are spectacular. Fox and Panasonic Hollywood Labs continue to deliver the best PQ I have seen.

I agree. I watched some of it last night also. It actually looks better than Live Free or Die Hard Blu.

looks like best buy is finally reducing the price on new releases.

BB yesterday had a sale tag for $79.99 with a sticker price of $89.99. Did they drop it another $10?

I was lucky and got mine mispriced at $24.98. I bet that won't happen everyday!

I was unsure how I would like this, but the picture and SOUND are both incredibly good. (Think Silver Surfer quality!) Now that I have the new receiver and player I can hear all of the quality of DTS-HD Master and it was worth the wait.

And the series itself really holds your interest. I never got to follow it when it first started. I'm really torn on whether I like this series better than 24.

I guess I will put this on my buy list after Christmas.

Wish I could comment on the quality, but I bet you won't see the fox logo in the corner, nor the "next show" popups they do in the middle of the series. Dumb idiots.

This is one of my must see TV shows, but I just don't buy TV on disc. By the time you have all the seasons, you are swimming in discs.

It's in progress. I just ordered the set today for a total of $58.55 and old my old, never watched DVD copy for $24, so a good day all around!

Blind Peter Bracke at HDD thinks this is only four stars for PQ. I wonder how much Toshiba is paying this guy.

DVDTown has a review of this as well... Apparently a HUGE upgrade over the original DVDs (which I've bought and never watched).

Don't want to pay full price so I'll wait it out.

just finished watching the whole season 1 of prison break on blu-ray over the past few days...picture quality is spectacular! sound is awesome too. i am tryin to hold off on gettin the dvd version for season 2 but dont know if its gonna be released on blu-ray anytime soon. anyone have any word on season 2 for blu?

Half way through mine now. Just outstanding PQ & AQ. I hope season 2 comes soon.
