So I missed a lot of the important dialogue from Marlon Brando, other than that though, I really loved this film. It's atmosphere is very haunting, the battle scenes are at an epic level, and there is a lot of mystery and suspense though out it. I may need someone to explain the meaning of the movie to me, but the story had me hooked though out.

10/10

This needs a Blu-Ray release now!

Are you kidding me? They're far from bad adaptations. In fact, they're both among the better adaptations I've seen in terms of following the look and feel of the book. Imagine how difficult it would be to get all of the magic off the pages of those two books.

It's one thing to not like those films, that's fine. It's another to say they're bad adaptations, which they're absolutely not.

Predator UHE

Movie 5/5

Wow after watching the original im starting to appreciate the newly released PREDATORS. This was a great and original horror thriller. I can say that the acting is way better in the original even though Arnold cant act for shit lol. But this is a treat, i cant compare it to the regular blu, (as i havent seen it) but the special features are great IMO. I loved every bit of the movie, being that im a fan boy in all.
[Show spoiler]except the cheezy predator laugh at the end when he self terminates ( very cheezy)

Very Proud to Own this Edition, Highly Recommended for new comers and MUST OWN for fans.

If this isn't the best looking blu, it's top 3.

AQ: 4.5 stars (out of 5)

I thought it'd be better, even though it's quite good. It's not reference quality like the PQ, though. Other Pixar films, like Up and Monsters Inc. have better AQ.

Film: 3 1/2 stars (out of 4)

I'm not sure if I understand the criticism for this film. I found it to be entertaining and to have good themes. No long review needed; it's a solid film.

Here's how I'd rank the Pixar films:

1) Ratatouille (the concluding monologue is one of the two greatest Pixar moments, along with the Up montage)

2) Up

3) Cars

4) Monster's Inc.

5) Finding Nemo

6) Toy Story

7) Toy Story 2

MAJOR DROP

8) Wall-E

Note: I haven't seen A Bug's Life, Toy Story 3, or The Incredibles.
nice. just switch cars w/ monsters inc. and thats my list... of the 8 listed. Ratatouille is def and by far imo the best pixar film.

I agree with you on this one. I think even Quick and the Dead is better. I own Appaloosa on BD but have only watched it once because it just didn't capture my attention like Lonesome Dove or some of the other westerns, which I happen to own on BD.

Toy Story 3 will likely disrupt your current top 3.

You should definitely check out A Bug's Life on BD; I think (my opinion) it is much better than Wall-E.

I had a deal for it on here fall through! I def want to see it--I'm sure I'll own it before the end of the year.

Btw, the reason the Toy Story movies are listed so low is that they're just not strong thematically, like the other films are.

Here's my star ratings for them:

1) Ratatouille-4 stars
2) Up-4 stars
3) Cars-3 1/2
4) Monster's Inc-3 1/2
5) Finding Nemo-3 1/2
6) Toy Story-3
7) Toy Story 2-3
8) Wall-E-2 or 2 1/2

I have free tickets so there's no reason I shouldn't see it soon! I plan on seeing it next Friday. My issue with the first two films, which were very creative, is that they just didn't have strong themes like the rest of the Pixar films. Does 3 rectify what I perceive to be a problem?

Cars and Monster's Inc really are on par with each other. I call it even, although I very easily could switch the two.

I'm in the minority in preferring redux. I absolutely understand the ppl who dislike it, especially since it does alter the flow and pace of the film significantly. I also agree that the Playboy scene is odd and unneeded. However, I think the plantation scene is pretty important, which is why I like it better. I don't care which one they release on blu (I have an inkling that you'll get both versions, like Blade Runner), I just want it released!

The themes in 3 will punch you in the gut. Then, when you are doubled over, the other themes drive a knee upward into your face, launching you through the air and landing violently on your back. The themes of "moving on" and "letting go can be difficult" and "kindness and sacrifice" and "accepting and embracing
[Show spoiler]DEATH
" are powerfully on parade. Its a three-hankerchief film.

So, yeah, it does.
