He did say that they did convert a small part of Inception to 3D and that he was actually quite pleased with it - but still hesitant and definitely not willing to do a rush job (thank god).

Yes I think he might not have any choice on the matter.

As the movie open yet? I am curious to see if it's as good as what expectation have been for it.

Not surprised....Some people don't like smart movies. Hopefully more people enjoy it, even thought it makes them think.

Does anyone think the movie will be deemed "too smart" and therefore not get an Oscar nom, if it is in fact one of the 10 best (which remains to be seen)?

I've been thinking the same thing...I hope its not deemed too smart by the masses, because if it's as good as it looks and sounds, Nolan definitely deserves an Oscar nom. I still felt like he should have gotten at least a Best Director nod for The Dark Knight, so I hope he gets it for this film.

I've gone though some of her reviews

She likes that's considered bad - The Last Airbender, The Sorcerer's Apprentice (currently at 14% on RT), Jonah Hex, Killers, Alice in Wonderland, The Spy Next Door, Sex and the City 2, The back up plan

She doesn't like that is considered good - [REC]2, The Runaways, The Ghost Writter, Shutter Island, The Road, Iron Man 2, The Bounty Hunter

Stuff she is right on - Twilight: Eclipse, Grown-Ups, The Crazies, Youth in Revolt, Remember Me, From Paris with Love, The Wolfman, Dear John, Valentine's Day, The Girl With The Dragon Tatto, Splice, The Lovely Bones

It will depend on how much effort the voters want to put into the film, and whether or not "smart" is a popular trend this year. I dont think they should judge it on how it may or may not hit the masses, but on how they themselves perceive it.

If they say its "too smart", are they calling themselves dumb?

Yeah until any of us see it, it's def tough to tell. No way he deserved it for TDK, but he is a quality director and maybe this will be his award breakthrough.

haha. I agree. Just because a film is intellectual doesn't mean it shouldn't be nominated. There have been many smart films nominated, although we see it a bit more with foreign cinema.

I'm super excited to see this sometime this weekend, especially since almost all the reviews have been positive.
