If you want to believe that a Blu-ray looks as detailed (i.e. resolution in HD terms) as a film in a movie theatre, than that's on you.

Or perhaps it honestly does look better to you, because you have really high-end equipment, which if that is the case, good for you.

For the rest of us, a Blu-ray on our little 37" LCDs just does not look as good as a film in a theatre. (And grain really, honestly ruins the whole presentation) I merely used Google as a quick way to get something in HD terms of resolution to relate to film, rather than continue to post just my opinion, which from Day One has been immediately attacked.

And, of course, someone here IMMEDIATELY had information ready in his head to dispute that, and once again attack my opinion.

So, I really cannot continue this silly bickering anymore at 1:00am on a worknight. you win
Childish?

I seem to remember you calling us "idiots", "morons" and something the likes of that, right before you were suspended.

The format is a medium for MOVIES, not an end unto itself
Do you think the grain is hiding something behind it? Once again, the film image is MADE of grain... clearly that bit of trivia has not yet been absorbed. The human brain does a superb job of separating grain from subject matter in motion, much better than any computer algorithm, and if there's nothing there but grain, then nothing was captured.

Yes, I did get caught up in the all the personal attacks, and was very childish and foolish, and am very embarrassed by my behavior. (I was only suspended once, btw)

A statement ? no. Just my attempt at humor. Are you that caught up in anger and hatred that you can't see any humor in any of it ?

During my "Time Out" I had some time to think about what I am trying to accomplish here on this Forum. It is certainly not to be hated, so I tried to come back with some ideas to hopefully put aside our differences, and find a way to get what we both want. So, my first post after coming back, I put out my Olive Branch, which was subsequently smashed by the anti-DNR majority. It was never even considered for a second. And now, we have slipped back down to the petty schoolyard bickering. This is not good for this Forum, and certainly not why I am here.

I have been online for 14 years, and been a member of over a dozen different Forums; this is first group to have ever treated me this way, and the first I have gotten so worked up to receive even a warning, much less an actual suspension.

Perhaps I need to stop trying to interact with you people, and merely post the "that's so cool" and "gee, I can't wait for this Blu-ray" type posts.

This is a strange place: attempts at exchanging ideas and open communication are met with anger and ridicule.

Because it's a ridiculous idea. I don't like Christian Bale in the new Batman movies, and I'm not alone. Should WB release a version with his parts edited down and his lines dubbed? No, that's preposterous. So why should they release a different version of a movie just because YOU don't like how it looks?

Hah, stop with this "speaking for the common man" martyr act, it's so phony. You just want old movies to look digital because you like it that way, come on.

DVD version on the left and the Blu-Ray on the right. They DNRed some of the projectiles right off the screen on the BD.

This type of release is acceptable?
First of all, who's gonna notice when those arrows are in full action, you can't even notice them until you pause the action. Here's a tip, don't pause on the arrow battle scene. Lol

ha, i agree. cant stand bale as batman. keaton all the way.

however, i actually didnt even know they rereleased predator on bluray with all the special features until i saw it at walmart yesterday. i was so happy, like FINALLY, predator with all the special features! but i didnt expect a new transfer. is it really weird? are there any comparison shots online i can view? i know the original had lots of grain which honestly im not crazy about so i dont know, everyones different so maybe i would like the new one. im sure the detail must still be there.

What about the fireballs that disappear from view, then reappear? Did they fold space?

so it took a version that you thought was horrible for you to think the original one looked good? Guess more people should have supported it when it first came out instead of complaining about bitrates.....

Who said it's "demo" material? I like how you keep injecting your own words into what other people didn't say and then roll your eyes.
