I noticed a few more subtle parts in the film that i didnt see the first time round as i was trying to think ahead of the plot when i first saw it, so it was even more enjoyable the second time.

This film is easily going to be nominated for 9-12 Oscars, it would be a discrace if it wasn't. I've got a feeling this film is going to wipe the board and Toy Story will get Best Animated. I'd be happy with that.

A lot of people have said im crazy for going a third time to see this movie but those who have seen it once totally understand my madness.

[Show spoiler]The only thing that i missed on the second viewing is what Fischer says to Saito when they are 3 dreams down, i think Fischer falls over in the snow and gets up and says something, what was that about?

Also the film never showed the last kick back up from where they went under from on the plane?
[Show spoiler]The shock of falling into the water was supposed to be a kick that would wake all of them up, pretty sure.

[Show spoiler]But it wasnt though because they were still 1 dream down when they all came out of the water. Because Fischer talks to Eammes and Artur and Ariadne are along the water a bit. They still had to go up one more level to get back to reality, to the plane. Maybe im just thinking this over too much but thats the one bit that doesnt make sense to me.

Nice try buddy, but both of those movies were enjoyable. 1 star is for utter crap like Norbit or Glitter

[Show spoiler]I don't really hear very well so I kind of missed the train on totems and what they do. Or why they're specific to a person and/or why other people can't touch your totem.
Thanks in advance to anybody who can explain this.

[Show spoiler]Because they allow you to differentiate between reality and dreams. For example Arthur has a loaded die and he knows the exact weight of it. So when he needs to know whether he is in the real world he uses that.

Cobb has the spinning top and Ariadne has the chess piece, which you can see her working on during the movie adding weights to it.

Which is why Arthur doesn't let her touch it to feel the weight of it and Ariadne doesn't let Cobb touch hers for the same reason.

[Show spoiler]Oh I never knew the weight of the totem meant anything, thanks for clearing that up. Little less confused now.

[Show spoiler]Petra explained, and I agree, that it doesn't matter at that point. The main issue was Cobb getting over the guilt of his wife was resolved. There is no real need to cover all the small steps of them getting kicked back to the plane.

You are right though that they did not show it and that can lead to speculation about the details after that. I like to think that the kick just was not shown.

[Show spoiler]That's pretty much the whole purpose of the ending. Cobb's totem, in the dream world, never stops spinning. The only way for him to know he's in the real world is if it falls over like a normal top.

[Show spoiler]They had a 10 hour time limit on the flight. I'm pretty sure, after 10 hours, the stewardess brought them out of the dream automatically.

[Show spoiler]I'm among those who's still unsure Cobb made it out. I think he either didn't get out in time or he simply "died" on stage 2 or 1 and got sucked back in anyway.

The ending is my favorite twist in movie history. The brilliant thing about it is Nolan performed inception on all of us. He planted an idea, left us hanging with it, and now there's all kinds of theories about what happened in the rest of the movie. Effing awesome. Also...

[Show spoiler]I love the fact that one of the key points of argument, the children, can be used in an argument either for or against the idea that it was real. The dream theorists state that the children's clothes are all the same throughout the film. This is true. The reality theorists state that the children's faces are never seen until the very end of the film, indicating that this sequence was reality. Neither side is right and it's two pieces of evidence that cancel each other out. Brilliant stuff by Nolan.

Meanwhile, I have to completely disagree with critics who say there's no emotion. Holy crap, the emotion between Leo and Marion was heartbreaking to watch. Even Ellen Page gave a very emotional performance, which was surprising to me.

the jury is still out on this for me. i went with my girlfriend and she fell asleep half way through it. and this group of guys we had to sit next to were soooooo into it that they kept distracting me. at the end they were screaming that it was the best sh$t they had ever been witness to. im goin have to see it again but will wait till the bluray comes out.

btw i saw the ending coming even before this movie came out. i only watched the first trailer then i stayed away from all things involving this movie. i wanted to be wowed but it fell short....so far.

Inception

Film:5/5

If you think Memento made you think and comprehend then Inception is about to blow you away. Inception will make you think above most films that come out today but do not let that hinder you from experiencing one the most original films to ever be made. Christopher Nolan does it again with this mind-bending film.

I understand why people compare this to The Matrix but this is nothing like it. This is def more clever than The Matrix and I will say better.

The film has a good pace throughout, I never had the feeling of when will this be over or what time is it. I was so focused/intent on this film nothing could "break" me from it. I feel as if I understood it(sure of it)and there were no holes in the story that I'm aware of but this is def something I want to view again to make sure I didn't miss anything. When viewing this I def recommend you stay focused and patient with it. The story was easy to understand but just make sure you do not miss anything being said for about the first hour & 1/2. In this time the main themes and ideas are being expressed. The rest of the film is a lot of action not too much either.

This story/writing is brilliant as well as directing. CN def deserves a nom in both categories for this film. Should he win? To soon to tell, but as for now I would say yes to both. Is this best pic material? Still too soon to tell but if I had to pick a best film of this year as of now, this would be it.

LD did a great job in this. I really praise his acting in this. Same with all of the cast. No one did a poor job at all. I really enjoyed Ellen Page in this. I was happy she did so well. I must say I am not a big fan of hers but thats bc I haven't seen a great amount of stuff she has done. JGL was really good. He is one of my fav actors right now and he did not disappoint.

This is my kind of film. It made me think, think what is happening and what would happen next. I highly urge and recommend anyone to see this.

[Show spoiler]You see i dont really mind if he got out or not, that is the beauty of the ending, you can believe what you like. But the only thing that makes me think that it is reality is that Miles was their when he saw his kids, i take it he wasnt their when he left to excape being arrested, so does that mean for that to have been a dream, miles would have had to been plugged in? Or can you bring literally anyone into a dream using your subconcious liek Dom does with Mal?

Alright saw it a 2nd time yesterday.

*cough*
[Show spoiler] In my 2nd viewing I've come to the conclusion that was was dreaming at the end. Why? Because in Limbo he didn't have his Totum. Remember now they didn't want anybody touching there totum because something could happen. When Cobb planted the Idea in his wifes head he went and found the totum in the safe. He came up with the idea and planted it by spinning it. IMO.

Well Saito had the totum. He knew who he was when they started talking. He could have easily planted something in Cobb's mind with the totum. (He spun te toum too.) Don't know how they got out but both looked really shocked. Also when Cobb was going out of the airport everybody on the team incuding Fischer looked at him except Saito. Don't know if that part meant anything but thought it was something.

There was no way Saito was that powerful to erase what was going on with Cobb but he makes 1 call and thats that.

Saito planted an idea into Cobb's mind to make him think that he was ok and could see his kids.

Don't know if this has been mention or not. Didn't bother trying to read the last 5 pages.

Also Cillian Murphy IMO gave the best performance. From arrogant to scared or breaking down. The way he showed his emotions was awesome.
