Default Something strange at Walmart.com

They are listing...

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow.
Aeon-Flux

First time I have seen it ever listed in Blu-ray, from Paramount and in stock.

Did someone screw up?

Probably just old stock that has been sitting around collecting dust in a warehouse somewhere. They were released on BD long before the betrayal.

Did a Google product search on these two movies. There must be a dozen retailers claiming to have these movies for sale in Blu-ray format.
Amazon even has a couple of used copies through their Marketplace.
But I notice they are all online mail order retailers. No brick and mortar stores. When I try to check store stock from stores that have such features (i.e. Best Buy) it shows not available in stores.
I bet it is a mistake. I personally am not up to ordering just to see what I would get; for an almost certain return to the seller. I suspect if one did try to order they would get either the standard DVD or the HD DVD. At the very least a email about the item not being available would be received. But who wants to risk receiving a HD DVD and have it counted as a sale in their favor.

Did you not read my post above? Those titles were released on BD en mass prior to Paramounts defection. It is almost 100% guaranteed that there is still stock for these titles kicking around. Wal-mart may have even pulled it off of their store shelves since they weren't selling and moved it to their online warehouse in order to try and expedite the stock sell-through. I have noticed plenty of Paramount BD titles from before their defection to HD DVD still on shelves in retail locations in my hometown.

Here's a list of all Paramount BD titles that were released and the dates of their release. Notice the release dates for the two titles in question... Sept & Oct 2006

It's a shame they couldn't have some leftover of movies that are like..worth owning. Those two titles aren't worth buying if one is 95% off and the other is BOGO. Talk about atrocious.

It's all old stock. Think I saw Aeon Flux at BB and FRYS not too long ago.

The BB by me has Italian Job too.

Strange that Christmas comes and suddenly they find these "boxes" of old stock.

Makes you wonder...

I have been looked at every Blu-ray on amazon for months and not once have I seen these...then poof there they are.

I ran out and picked up WE WERE SOLDIERS and MI3 when paramount turned I returned them the next day. I do not buy paramount/dreamworks /universal movies or go see them in the theatre any more. I hope Beowulf hits a brick wall this weekend all paramount understands is money. They don't give a shit about movie fans.

Nope,... I rented the blu ray from Netflix and having seen it,... nope.

Disturbia is up next in my Netflix Que just to check if it's something I want to buy before we run out locally (still multiple copies around here.)
