My intuition tells me this release is a market test by Fox to gauge the potential sales of the real Buffy show for Blu-ray. If it sells like gangbusters, do not be surprised to see the real show released on BD.

I'm sorry but FOX is just f**king with the Buffy fans. They just need to release the series on BD and watch the Green roll in.

Yeah no kidding i know most shows are not financially safe bets right now but Buffy would do well i think. If they did do it i would just want a complete series set. I don't know about other fans but i would pay $300 for Buffy and $250 for Angel complete BD sets.

I wonder what it covers up to. Or has it wound up. I've just been buying the TPBs and didn't realise it had wound up.

It shows the comic in a movie type format with voice actors(not the shows stars) for the characters. Some are pretty darn good while others suck pretty bad.

To be honest, I'd settle for SD versions of Buffy if they'd just release 4-7 Anamorphic.

Yes, yes...I love Joss, insanely so. I am one that often times refers to him in shorthand as "God."

But...they have them on Netflix. I want them on Disc. I know, I know, gaffes/gaffes...we are watching a show about Vampires killed by a pretty tiny blonde high girl - I can deal with the occasional boom mic.

I would cry buckets of tears to get those seasons for which Widescreen versions exist. When I buy my next TV I am going to make sure it can show PAL (my current HDTV will not) because I want to finally import the European sets where they are WS.

I love you, Joss. Please take my money?

You're really going to skip a release because some guy on a web site quotes an anonymous source saying that people aren't being paid? Without any knowledge if it's true and/or what the contracts/agreements were for the work?

My intuition is that sometimes a cigar is just a cigar and that Fox is releasing this on Blu-Ray because they'd rather have Blu-Ray owners paying a few extra bucks to get Blu-Ray copy than have Blu-Ray owners paying a few bucks less for a DVD copy or even refusing to pay anything for a DVD copy.

As people have said before in this thread, releasing the show on Blu-Ray would be an enormous and expensive undertaking and I don't think this release really has anything to do with gauging interest. Fox knows the interest is there and I bet they also know that this thing would only sell a fraction of what a live-action release featuring the real cast would sell.

Ultimately my intuition also tells me that this release shows that Fox would be more than happy to release Buffy on Blu-Ray if it were as easy as releasing this motion comic on Blu-Ray is. It just isn't as easy.
