Sorry if this has been covered earlier and if it has... just ignore me! Anyway, I heard Paramount discontinued Sky Captain. Is that true and are they re-releasing at some point?

Paramount has refreshed the cover art on their titles, and they have also sublicensed some titles to Lionsgate.

If you want a great Sky Captain disc right now, the Japanese version from Geneon has superior picture and lossless audio.

YES. It has been said over and over and over and over.

Charles and Bill have both said this. Repeatedly at that.

What I want to know, that I don't think has been answered yet (forgive me if I'm wrong!), is how much of the previously-released material on the supplementary discs is in HD?

I should probably take this Q over to Charles' thread, but I think he still needs a chance to catch his breath.

I posted this in the Gladiator thread but I figure maybe I'll get a better answer here...

I tried calling the revised number and a woman named Jeane answered. When I said I was calling about the exchange program she told me I have the wrong number. The number I am dialing is 323-956-3010. Is that not the right one?

What did "Jeane" try and offer you?

I wish they were, but its VERY unlikely that they are since all of the documentarys (each 3 hours long) that got their own seperate disc on the alien quad have all been put on one bluray and its unlikely that the can get 12 hours of HD content on one bluray disc. Just keep that in mind, but it could be heavily compressed and when it comes to special features (and ONLY special features) Ill take HD-lite (720p and/or low bitrate) over SD.

Not much, though she sounded like she probably wanted to get me some psychiatric help. She responded like I was some sort of crazy person.

Wish I could be. I usually stay with my brother, but he decided to go on vacation that week and the only hotel rooms left started at $250 a night and were miles away. It's expensive even then for me to go to SDCC, $500 at least, and I have 20 people coming in from Japan to take care of in less than a week anyway. After that I have to go to Chicago for X Japan's big debut at Lollapallooza (Sunday at 4, main stage). Too bad too, I was going to get to sit at the grown-ups table this year . Big shout out of course to Rob Burnett (TRON, Superman Returns, X-Men 1 and 2 special features) who is off shooting the second part of his sure to be a trilogy Free Enterprise 2 (with Bill Shatner and Malcom MacDowell, will the real Captain Kirk get revenge? Wait and see!), but will probably make it down in there somewhere. that much free booze must be assimilated after all

Assuming the stars align, I'll be back next year

In that case I hope you enjoy answering questions about Kinect, DNR on the Alien Anthology (and any film for that matter), and answering the mandatory "when is this title coming out" question.

Kinect will DNR you so you're more easily digestible in Aliens vs Predator 2

Jeff,

Can you verify if the Machete trailer will be part of the upcoming Grindhouse release? From my interpretation, IGN is reporting it will not be.

Sorry if this has been addressed already, as I may have missed anything on these. Has there been any word on "Trainspotting" and "The Crow"? I'm starting to get impatient on these and am thinking about getting these 2 as my first ever imports (Trainspotting - canada ; The Crow - japan). Just wanting to know the latest, especially since The Crow isn't cheap. My luck, I'll order them and they'll be announced for the U.S. right after.

Also, any possible news coming from Lucasfilm at Comic Con regarding Indy? If SW is coming next year, I don't see Lucas releasing both franchises in the same year. So i would think it would either be this year, or 2 yrs from now, depending on how the SW films are released, whether all 6 are spaced out or not.

No Miramax stuff until it's sold. If you want them now, import, the Japanese crow disc is nice.

I can only imagine what a person who's not thinking about the blu-ray would think..."I'm sorry, did you say you have a gladiator? And you want to exchange him?"

we're assuming that he dialed the right number. Afterall, some woman named Jeane could be any number of things

The 323 area code is not that far from the San Fernando Valley....

Hehe.
