Anyone lining up at midnight to pick this up?

My two brothers are going now to wait, but I can't afford a copy at the moment. I loaned one of them the money to get their copy (his car broke down, $900 to fix so yeah he was broke) so I guess it's a good thing I can patiently wait for my next check. lol

Grr, my Collector's edition arrived yesterday and I couldn't install it because it wasn't released until today (the installer stops with "the game hasn't been released yet!"), I'll have to wait until I get home to play it

yeah, that does work in my experience for the win on smaller maps or ones where you know where your opponent is but most people now (probably more than ever now that terran can submerge supply depots) wall off the entrance to their base.

I like playing with all the races (probably the reason I'm not great with any of them, lol). I'm really looking forward to the new units. Got the strategy guide yesterday and am getting the game in the mail today... still waiting on the computer though!

that's what I want to hear! I skimmed through the campaign section of the strategy guide (trying not to spoil the game for me, but it's so hard!). Looks amazing.

glad the Protoss kept hallucination. Can anyone let me know if it produces 3 copies like in the original or just 1?

Also, can someone explain shift-queing to me (or just give me tips on when to use the shift key)? It seems like that's super important but I never used it in the original Starcraft.

Can someone post me the tech specs on it?

I've got a GeForce 8600M GT and 4 Gigs of RAM and want to make sure that my computer will be able to eat it apart.

You have more than enough RAM, but your graphics card is a little dated (even for a Blizzard game). You'll still run it fine on high, maybe even very high settings, but check this out... (no max for you!)

I'm hoping I can get close to max on this... not top-of-the-line, but pretty good for a budget computer ($800, but spent $500 more on custom dual screens, lol):

NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 1GB 16X PCI Express
4GB (2GBx2) DDR3/1333MHz Dual Channel Memory

600 Watts - XtremeGear Power Supply
Asetek 510LC Liquid Cooling System 120MM Radiator & Fan (Enhanced Cooling Performance + Extreme Silent at 20dBA) + Maximum 120MM Case Cooling Fans

GigaByte GA-870A-UD3 AMD 870/SB850 chipset support DDR3 Ultra Durable™3 Socket AM3 ATX Mainboard w/ 7.1 Audio, GBLAN, Support 6-core CPU, CPU Auto Unlocker, USB3.0, SATA-III, ON/OFF Charge for IPod, RAID, 2 Gen2 PCIe, 2 PCIe X1, & 3 PCI

I'd be shocked if you didn't get max High or Max Very High with that, I got ultra high on the beta with 6gb ddr3 1333mhz liquid cooled i7 1100watt psu and a single 5770.

nice, that's what I'm hoping for.

BTW, did you end up getting the game supersix? I know you were a little hesitant earlier on.

gotcha, I mean your specs seem fine to me based off of what Blizzard is recommending. The only thing that would give me pause is this (eerily similar situation)...

"The only problem I'll have getting into StarCraft II? I was foolish enough to think it might run reasonably on a 13-inch MacBook Pro with a 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo processor and a discrete Nvidia 320M graphics processor. Perhaps in Boot Camp mode (actually, I doubt it) but natively under OS X? Forget it. Unless you're comfortable chug-a-lugging at sub-medium details settings, your best bet probably involves a high-end Mac, or a fairly powerful PC. I fiddled with a few versus AI missions, and struggled to keep up with events as the frame rate fell to single digits. I don't blame Blizzard--a 13-inch MacBook Pro was never really intended to crunch a game like this."

http://www.pcworld.com/article/20196...html?tk=hp_blg

However, you shouldn't suffer quite the same fate as you have 4MB RAM. However, the 320M the guy is using might be better than your graphics card (online research is telling me the 320M is equivalent to a 9600M GT which I believe one ups your 8800M GT).

It seems like most computers can, just not on anything above medium settings if you're unsure. Still, from what I hear, the game still looks great.
