Default Amp Troubles

I have an Audiosource 100 amp and I have to bridge it on mono to my Onkyo tx-sr806 receiver. I can't get this to work at all, I have the LFE sub cable on the red line 2 input going to the pre out input on the receiver. This isn't working or something is wrong, someone help!

Is this amp powering a sub?

I'm pretty sure it is, I have my audio cables going to my amp on the bridged mono setting, then I have an LFE cable running to my receiver.

Is the LFE cable connected to the right-side rca output of the amp then going to the receiver?

There's the back of the amp, it has a line 1 and 2 input both red and white, and a line 1 output with a red and white slot. Then in the middle, I'm not really sure how to put my audio cables in the slots to be bridged, I believe it's in the middle on the top, which is speaker A. I also don't know where to plug the LFE cable into my receiver, I always thought it was pre out or subwoofer, idk.

Your description is a little confusing. "pre out input on the receiver" seems to be an oxymoron. If your intention is to drive a subwoofer from the LFE to an amplifier, you should connect the LFE output of your preamp to the input of your bridged amp and then feed the sub with speaker wire from the amp.

I just don't get where to plug the LFE cable into on the amp or the receiver. The receiver is an Onkyo tx-sr806.

Ok, mono switch set to bridged, line 2 IN to subwoofer pre-out, speaker to red + on the left and red - on the right. Your manual says line 2 using a Y-adapter.

Is this amp powering your subwoofer or are you using it for you're main speakers?

Again we need to know what you are trying to do. My assumption is that you are trying to feed a passive sub from a bridged amp. If this is the case then you slide the "mono" selector on your amp to "bridged". Then connect your LFE output (RCA) from your receiver to the Line-2 in, right channel input on your amp (red one). Then connect your passive sub with speaker wire from your "speaker-A" outputs. Use only the red ones. The left one is the (+) and the right the (-).

Jeez, I downloaded the pdf for the manual from parts-express. SammyG and rpatt have given you correct information. The wiring diagram in figure 2 is very easy to follow. From what I have gathered and you still aren't clear on this, nor have you responded in that regard, you want to drive a passive sub using the bridged mono configuration.

If you aren't getting any signal and you followed Figure 2 in the manual, then I suspect that your main speakers (L and R fronts) are set to Large (or full range, or whatever Onkyo calls it). In my AVR (Yamaha) that would mean that the subwoofer only gets the LFE channel and no redirected bass. The redirected bass from the center and surrounds will get sent to the fronts (if set to large).

Yamaha AVRs are notorious for setting even small speakers with 6.5 in woofers to Large. Please, check to see if that's what Audyssey set your front speakers to. I have other owners say many times that Audyssey tends to set speakers to large when actually should have been set to small.

Please check your bass management settings.

The crickets are getting louder and louder. :crickets:
