It will prob be a clear case, but would benefit the artwork with a digipak (like it's dvd version), since all there is on the front is text (See Last Year at Marienbad's digi and clear case for differences).

I would hope so, but with The Darjeeling Limited getting a Fox release prior to the Criterion one, it would seem anything is possible. Either way, I can't help feeling very slighted at the idea. Wes Anderson has several outlets to reach his fanbase, and while I like his films enough, their overpresence in the Collection is upsetting. A very-recent, quasi-commercial director does not need five Criterion spines--two or three could have gone to another director or film.

Another Anderson (PTA) deserves 1 spine more than him having all of his films. Lame.

Punch-Drunk Love into the collection!

Life Aquatic and Darjeeng Lmtd were just awful movies. I like Rushmore. Well, I liked it ten years ago. It's possible all this other crap he's made has ruined it. Bottle Rocket is pretty meh. It's okay. Certainly don't need to own it. I don't really remember much of Tennenbaums. I guess it was okay.

Oh, I see what you're saying. Just like how Seven Samurai's cover will be all text. It probably would be more fitting in that sense, but I still prefer the way they do it now. With one disc getting a clear and two or more getting a digipak. Just for consistency reasons, I guess. I did just see the DVD of Breathless at B+N and it really did look good though (with a digipak).

I can say I use to like some of his stuff a little, but this love fest between his films and Criterion is just some $ ploy to get his "crowd" to spend.

Sure, I can sit here and say the love fest between Godard or Kurosawa and Criterion is the same, but who else would release Godard or Kurosawa in the states? Who?

Anderson's film can easily be released by studios. I don't want this to seem like a "Fav Films" vs "Hard To Release" films, what should be in the Collection type thing again, it's just the truth.

Yeah, Seven Samurai would be the same example. I prob know they will be clear cases, but to sell the film to everyday people, I think they need some artwork on the outside (Spine, back). Oh well, Breathless on blu in my hands is the only thing I really care about. I got the dvd version for artwork anyways, so I won't be missing it when I look in my collection.

Speaking of Breathless, I streamed it via Netflix the other night and really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the Blu-ray release next month. It was my first Godard, I'll have to watch my copy of Pierrot le Fou now.

Absolutely. It's incredible. For me, it was one of those great discoveries that you have with Criterion. I hadn't seen much of Godard's work prior to watching it, I also really liked Breathless, but that's about the extent of what I'd seen. I rented this from Netflix, watched it, and had to order it immediately after. It's now probably my favorite Criterion and I've re-watched it several times.
