I just received this from movietyme and It will not play on my UK blu-ray player.
It states both region A and B on the rear cover.
After putting the disc in my Sony BDP-350 player the screen goes blank for a few seconds but then returns back to the Sony menu screen.
I didn't get any invalid region message or anything like that, so I guess I just have a faulty disc.
Anyone else have any problems with this disc?

Another owner of the disc can confirm this behavior with his Samsung 1600, his Dyon (set to region B) and TMT (he also states, that AnyDVD-HD says it's region A). Here are the according (German) comments: http://forum.cinefacts.de/6884464-post15.html and http://forum.cinefacts.de/6885330-post23.html

So I don't think, you have a faulty copy. I think, the disc is locked to region A.

This is odd.
I have tried to play a region locked disc before and I got a wrong region message appear on my player.
But when attempting to play this disc there is no error message or anything, it just will not play.

I am not the only one having the same problem with this disc. There is an owner over at the stallonezone forum who has reported that the same disc will not play on his Sony PS3.

As well as my own player, I have tested the disc on a Samsung 6900 and a Sony 470. The same thing happens, the disc attempts to play, blank screen for a few seconds, then returns to the machines home menu, no error/wrong region messages.

So, even though the back cover states both region A & B compatible I suggesy DO NOT buy this film if you want to play it on a region B only machine.

It sucks that I bought the dvd just 3 months ago. The wife is not a fan of the double dip.

Any new extras on this? The dvd had some old featurettes.

I just got my copy from Amazon. There's no label on the disc. Nothing. No way to know which is the correct side. And the same thing happened with me: played then stopped. I should at last get a region code error, right?

I just bought/ watched it.

Its a great flick.

The AQ is decent for its time and the PQ is also 'ok' for its time.

I dont judge an old movie against the new releases of today in general, and Im ok with that.

But it certainly has replay value for me, its a great jail flick.

DTA....dont trust anyone.

Just picked up this and Rambo ( extended cut at BB last night .. rambo was awesome, the PQ was 4/5, and the AQ was 6/5.. No thats not a typo The bass and Sound stage was unreal.. Especially the bass tho

Lock up was better than I expected.. Not bad PQ and AQ for the age at all... Solid 4 for PQ and 3 for AQ , since its a pretty dialogue driven movie you cant expect a ton. Definitely the best $20 ( for both movies , $ 9.99 each ) I have spent this month
