The "proof" part for all the people who were worried if the 3D release plays in 2D as well, so the screenshot serves as a confirmation that it does.

OK, I took my copy of CwaCoM up to a home entertainment shop because I knew that, if they had a 3D setup, they'd let me put my disc in and check it out. They, in fact, did have a 3D setup. It was a Samsung LED 3D TV and a Samsung 3D BD player (not sure the model numbers of either device). When I arrived, they were playing, what seemed to be, a BRAND NEW Disney 3D demo BD. It had clips from A Christmas Carol 3D, Looney Tunes cartoons in 3D, Alice in Wonderland 3D, A Nightmare Before Christmas 3D, etc. The demo disc was hosted by Timon and Pumbaa from The Lion King (of course in 3D). So, I knew that this setup was able to play 3D just fine.

When I put in the CwaCoM disc, the menu loaded, I hit enter to select the "Play Movie" option. Then I had the choice of 3D or 2D. Of course, I chose 3D and I was given the same message that I get on my all 2D setup at home. It would not play in 3D. I tried it many times and it did not work. I asked if I could check to see if the firmware was the latest and they did not mind. So, I checked it and it was not the latest. So, I upgraded the Samsung BD player to the latest firmware.

STILL, the movie would not play in 3D.

It seems that the compatibility of 3D is still very much in its infancy. I was REALLY hoping that, as long as you have a 3D capable BD player and 3D capable TV, everything would automatically work. Not so.

I just hope all of the 3D movies will work with the Oppo BDP-93 and Panasonic plasma combination because I don't need the headache of some movies working and some movies not working and waiting for firmware to fix things, blah blah blah.

The dealer that I went to said that they don't even recommend 3D to people because it's so volatile right now and not even guaranteed to work. They even mentioned that the Monsters vs. Aliens 3D BD wouldn't play in 2D on a regular 2D BD player.

Thoughts?

Honestly, I have a Samsung LED TV which is playing Cloudy on a PS3 and I have yet to notice a problem at all? It plays all of the 3D content just fine.

Smile I got a copy for $20.

I just bought my copy at WM for $20.00. That seems like a good price. I know that it was $14.99 a while ago at K-Mart but all the K-Marts in my area suck, and I did not get my 3D TV until last week.
