Ken Crane's has several different rooms with different lighting for that particular display, they put 2-3 Plasmas in one room for proper lighting and you can turn the seat around to face the display you want to look at! This is where I first viewed the Panasonic 50" V10 in all it's glory, it looked a little on the bright side though. I cut the contrast and brightness down 50% and was able to dim the lighting to match the plasma, lets see Best Buy have that kind of setup!

Guys I need your help. I am looking to purchase a TV for my bedroom. I would like to keep it under $1400 and no bigger than 40inch. I would mainly be using the TV for gaming and the occasional blu-ray movie. The room does have a lot of light during the day and since I will be using it mostly for gaming, I am leaning towards a LCD. Are LED's worth the extra money? I have been looking at two TVs right now one is the Samsung UN40C6500(amazon $1,125.99). The other one is the Samsung UN40C7000 (amazon $1,479), not sure if it would be worth the extra money for this 3d unit since it will mainly be used for gaming. What do you think? I am open to any brand just wanna get the most bang for my money. Thanks for any help/advice you can give me.

The black level is very deep on this set as well. Color accuracy is pretty good when properly calibrated as well. It is noticeably off out of the box, so be prepared to do some adjusting. You should be able to find some good settings in the owner's forum over on avsforum. Other than that its a great set for a very reasonable price. |

Be sure to use input 5 or 7 on the 700UN for gaming. Either one of those will give you the least amount of lag. |

Hey guys, I wasn't sure where to put this.
Anyhow, I have the option of either an LG 60" Plasma (LG 60PK550) Or a 60" Sharp Aquos 240Hz LCD tv (LC-60E88UN). I already have the 60" Aquos here, but I have to return due to 3 dead pixels (TV is less than 12h old). So, I can return it for another Aquos, or I can get the LG Plasma. I love my BD movies, and HD gaming. What woudl your opinions be? Which unit should I get? Should I just stick with the LCD Aquos? OR opt for the LG Plasma. Thanks. |

Here's another helpful article by Gary Merson at HDGuru.com that sets the record straight on the differences between LCD and plasma displays: http://hdguru.com/how-not-to-choose-...medium=twitter . He deconstructs a recent video tutorial put out by Sony on how to choose the right HDTV.

I have a question:
I have an LCD (3 years old), a PLASMA (2 years old) and a new LED (one week old). My question is, why does the imagery on my new LED (Samsung UN46D6420 46" 1080P 120HZ 3D LED) look different/more real than my LCD (Samsung LN-T4066F 40" 1080p LCD) and my Plasma (Panasonic 65PZ850U) The Plasma and LCD look great... like HD! People are clear on the screen. But with the LED, people look like they're in my room! Its like real life! Almost looks less like a move and more like the actors are acting in a box in front of me. Can someone tell me what is different? I'm reading the manual yet nothing tells me why it looks "more real life" and "less theater". |

i haven't bought a new tv in well over 5 years and i'm fairly unsmart when it comes to these. i currently have a 50 inch dlp that i've had since '07 but the bulb burnt out and when i switched it, it still isn't working so i either screwed up somehow or i don't have a clue.
i figure it may be cheaper to get a new tv than to repair this so i'm wondering if i should stick with dlp, or maybe switch to led, lcd or plasma? any help or feedback is much appreciated |

Guys I want to buy a 50inch LG HDTV but the problem is that I live in KSA and they don't have a plasma full HD TV! Only the 60inch model is full HD.
So I have to choose between these: - LG 50inch Plasma PA4500 (720p) - LG 47inch LCD CS560 (1080p) The distance I sit from the screen is about 5 to 8 feet. I play Blu-rays & video games on my Blu-ray player & PS3 So which one should I go for? |

buying and watching TVs since 1970, I see it this way: A 720 may look the same from a distance as 1080 but the a 720 cannot display all the detail in a 1080 source (BluRay). 720 has about 920,000 pixels compared to over 2 million pixels with 1080. Playstation has an excellent BluRay player. You need 1080 to take advantage of your BluRays. This alone should be the deciding factor. Perceptually the 47 inch 1080p will produce a bigger picture than the 50 because you can sit much closer to it and you have to back off from the 50 with 720p. With LCD you don't have the long break-in time of the Plasma and virtually no problem with games causing image retention. If you want, you can have a much brighter screen for gaming on the LCD, and use the 'cinema' mode for your movies. If you pump the Plasma for gaming it will probably wear out faster |
