The SS you posted doesn't look like a good transfer at all. are you capturing it correctly?

They are all looking like 'DNR hall of shame' with waxy faces. To add to that there is false contouring and EE as well. I just hope the SS are not true representation of the movie. And it is hard to blv if DEI authored this - at least looking at the SS.

I don't know what to think about the screenshots. Some look great but in others people's skin seem to be made out of paint... But maybe that's just my screen. Anyway props to the inclusion of special features on a second disc. Now if only companies other than Yash Raj Films and UTV can get the hint...

Some serious EE, and Heavy DNR in some cases,

If this is really authored by DEI, I am shocked.

+1. This doesn't look like a source issue....rather looks like processed while authoring.

Hi
I am sorry that no one liked the screen shots even me.
Just to let everyone know that we dont have facility to use DVNR or DNR in our studio.

We have not used any filter while encoding. It is as is of original video and liked by publisher, Mr. Parkash Jha and his team.

Please watch the BluRay disc and then let me know your reviews.
If any forum member is living in Mumbai, he can visit us watch the Disc on our LED TV
Regards
Chandna

Sanjay had already commented on the other forum that he had no hope for this movie on BD. He had commented that the source was bad. Excerpt from Sanjay posted on 8/3.

"I hate to be the one to rain on every one's parade, but I personally do not have very high hopes for a good, let alone 'as great as Saawariya', BD of Rajneeti. My reasons for this our two fold. First of all, supposedly 'Sony DADC' are the ones who are authoring this Blu-ray and the fact is that they do not have a very good track record as far as their DVD releases in India are concerned. The few Hollywood movie DVDs, released by Sony in India and presumably authored by Sony DADC, that I have seen, have all been pathetic. Thus, even an average release from them would be out of the ordinary and not the norm. Secondly, although I am not too sure what impact this will have on the Blu-ray, but I saw this film on a 2K digital projection at one of the premiere theaters and the picture quality was absolutely pathetic. Believe you me, it was almost like watching a bad DVD. The colors were totally wacked out, the contrast was like watching on a cheap LCD display, the picture was very dull and it seemed like the picture had been put through some really excessive DNR, thus washing away any signs of film grain and totally robbing the picture of any sharpness whatsoever. In short the picture was absolutely and shockingly strocious, specially considering that I was watching a brand new release in a theater during the movie's first run and that too at the flagship theater of India's No. 1 mutiplex chain. I have not seen the movie in a regular theater with standard film projection, thus cannot be sure of where exactly the problem begins. But, since I watched a digital print, my guess is that it is the film to digital transfer that is to blame or maybe some further processing done on the digital print. Based on my experience in the theater, my concern is, that if the original theatrical DPs are so pathetic, what shape will the digital master provided to the Blu-ray authorer be in. Maybe someone else (Sunny) here with more experience in these matters can shed some more light on the whole process and if the original masters used for the theatrical digital prints are the same as the one used for the Blu-ray.

In the meantime, I am keeping my fingers crossed and I sure hope that my fears are proven wrong and Sony does put out a fantastic BD".

When I saw the movie, I was basically sitting in the front of the theater. It wasn't digital projection, rather the film reel projection and it looked REALLY GOOD. It's the opposite of what he said, which is probably why I didn't anticipate this. Also, the DVD was pretty good minus a flaw here and there. So the problem has to be somewhere else within the original studio... perhaps just the HD version they produced? How gross though.

I think people are just jumping the gun without seeing the actual BD. It can't be that bad if Digital Entertainment authored it.
