Except there was no way for Lundy to prove it was him since there was nothing against him. He saw him, hid for a little bit then started walking towards him and purposely bumped into him. When the episode first aired it was talked about why he did that, but I can't remember why. Or at least have an idea as to why he would. Then he awkwardly stared at him and left his keys on the ground.

I'm going to rewatch this tonight and get back to you. I would say he bumped in him maybe to get a closer look at him. Get an idea of what he was doing and if he was really onto him or not. I'll bump into him and see if he might recognize me, if not I'll be good to kill here. Maybe something stupid like that. |

Yeah I was thinking that he did that to see if it was him. Since he knew he was back in town, and he sees this guy recording at his next killing location. Then you know, Lundy gets shot and it's automatically assumed it was him that did it.

![]() Luckily I like about 4 or 5 shows on Showtime. My mom was actually gonna get rid of HBO because there's nothing really on there to watch but they told us we can't have Showtime without HBO? But luckily we didn't get rid of it because I watch True Blood. Even if that's the only show I'd rather watch it while it's on than have to wait. Since usually it's almost a year until then. |

I blind bought seasons 1-3. I only watched one episode before I bought them because there wasn't much time left On Demand and there was no way I'd be able to watch all of them. Luckily I ended up liking it, and now I love it.
Just finished S4, again, and it's just as sad as it was the first time I watched it. Actually the entire time it was kinda hard for me not to cry because I knew what was gonna happen. And I was DREADING watching the last episode, let alone that part. Pretty much, I ended up balling my eyes out lol. One thing I also never understood was when Christine wanted to talk to Deb and confess to her. Deb tells her they found out who her dad is and say Stan Beaudry, she kinda laughs and says wow or something. Was she saying that because they were wrong? Or because the guy was set up to make it look like it was him? I mean obviously she knew her own dads name but I wasn't sure what that meant. Last edited by hardtosayx; 08-22-2010 at 09:34 AM. |

John Lithgow won the Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama over the weekend for his fantastic performance as Arthur Mitchell/Trinity. This was largely viewed as the biggest lock of the Emmys. Some people could argue that Lithgow should not have been eligible for guest actor since he was in every episode and should have been eligible for the best supporting actor instead, but since Dexter credited him as a guest actor that was the award he was eligible for.

My post has spoilers in it for Season 4. Initially I tried to put spoiler tags around around the specific parts, but it became too hard to read. So I'm warning everyone that there's spoilers in my post. Read at your own risk....
Well, I just finished up Season 4, and it was everything that I've heard about it - intense, brilliant acting, exceptional writing - all that I expect from Dexter....up until the last episode. After watching the last few minutes of Episode 12, I have decided that I won't be watching the show anymore ![]() I realize that Dexter has to go through the trials of life to somehow prove that he is a man and not a monster. But dating, marriage, baby and death in the space of 4 seasons is a little too much for me. I think the dating, marriage and baby parts really drove home the fact that Dexter is becoming human, but I detest plot devices coming out of nowhere - like killing off a major character in the last few minutes of the last episode - that it leaves me hating a show that has generally featured fantastic writing these past years. I was hoping that Dexter wouldn't succumb to these inane power trips that the writers take once a show is successful - you know, kill off main characters, completely change the premise of the show, introduce too many new characters - the list goes on and on. Lundy's death (a major character in Season 2) made perfect sense in the whole scheme of Season 4. Rita's death did not (even though Arthur supposedly killed her) - it's there only to shock us. Killing Rita for the sake of shock value is the home of "regular" TV series, not Dexter. There was no buildup to her death, no tension, no anticipation, nothing except shock. It's like the Dexter producers were making a last ditch effort to save the show due to sinking ratings. We know that this was not the case. Rita - more than any other character on the show - helped me think of Dexter as a person and not a total monster. She allowed me to empathize with him when he "had" to kill. Without Rita, Dexter is just a monster - his grounding in humanity is lost. The struggles that Rita and the kids went through (think Lila and Paul) were great in that Dexter could reveal himself as caring - something a serial killer normally does not do. I don't want to watch a show where the star is a monster. Dexter is exactly this without Rita. This is why I think Season 5 fails for me as a Dexter show. I want to have Dexter as a vigilante - a character that can exact vengeance when the system fails. All 4 seasons have more-or-less reflected this premise. But Season 5 will have Dexter defending himself for the deeds he has committed or allowed others to commit. This is the Dexter I don't want to watch. It was a great show; one of the best I've ever seen. But when the writers resort to shock devices to boost the hype or "shake up the ship", then this is where I jump overboard. I would've expected something like this from FOX, not from Showtime. Oh well, the sailing was very pleasant and exhilarating while it lasted. R.I.P Dexter ![]() |

Ummm.... that I can't agree with. Rita was killed off because it was keeping him from killing. Which he needed to do. He has three kids and a wife who kept nagging him about everything possible. Notice that he barely killed anyone this season? He was trying so hard to figure out a way to have his family and keep killing by following someone whose done that for 30 years. Harry always told him not to get close to people, that he couldn't ever have a family, etc.
He ended up doing the opposite and he messed with the wrong person. Sure it was shocking, but you don't think that won't make him a darker person? And make him want to just kill more? She was the only thing that made him somewhat of a human but now that's gone. If Rita was still alive how would season 5 play out? Probably not much, more of him not killing, more Rita nagging him about anything possible. So I'm not really sure what you mean about you don't wanna see him as a monster, he is a monster no matter what. But he has to maintain himself. How can you judge season 5 when it isn't even on yet? You don't know anything that's gonna happen. |

I recently had a bunch of time off with nothing to do so I finally started watching Dexter. I'm now fully caught up and I absolutely LOVE it. I was hooked by the pilot but the most engaging season for me was season 2 - I watched the complete second season in one day. And as far as the debate about how season 4 ended, I thought it was great and I can't wait to see how season 5 deals with the fallout.

Well anyone who's positive about season 5, did you see the Behind the Scenes with the cast they did after The Big C? Not sure if it's gonna be each Monday but they're doing another next week.
Desmond Harrington (Quinn) lost a lot of weight. I don't know how I didn't notice in the previews before. |
