up for pre-order on 06/09/10 @ hmv £33.99
http://hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProduct...;-1&sku=723576 ![]() A Fistful Of Dollars: The first of the 'spaghetti westerns', A Fistful Of Dollars became an instant cult hit and launched the film careers of Italian Writer-Director Sergio Leone, and a little known American television actor named Clint Eastwood. As the lean, cold eyed cobra-quick gunfighter - Clint became the first of the 'anti heroes'. A Fistful Of Dollars is the western taken to the extreme - with unremitting violence, gritty realism, tongue-in-cheek humour and striking visuals. For A Few Dollars More: A Fistful of Dollars had proven so successful that a sequel was inevitable. The superbly scripted For A Few Dollars More tells the tale of a ruthless quest to track down the notorious bandit El Indio, played by Gian Maria Volonte, by an unforgettable alliance between ruthless gun-slingers Eastwood and Lee Van Cleef. Sergio Leone's direction is both violent and operatic and Ennio Morricone's atmospheric score keeps the tension taut as the action moves from jail breaks and hold ups to spectacular gun battles. The Good, The Bad And The Ugly: In the third of Eastwood's spaghetti trilogy Director Sergio Leone substitutes the upright puritan Protestant ethos, so familiar in Hollywood westerns, for a seedy cynical standpoint towards death and morality. The complex plot of bloodshed and betrayal winds its way through the American Civil War following a team of brutal bandits battling to unearth a fortune buried beneath an unmarked grave, and boasts a fine Ennio Morricone score featuring a main theme that reached No.1 in the world's pop charts. Hang 'Em High: They riddled him with bullets. They strung him up. They left him to die. But they made two fatal mistakes: they hanged the wrong man... and they didn't finish the job. In his first American-made western, Clint Eastwood indelibly carves his niche as the quintessential tough guy - cool-headed, iron-willed and unrelenting in the pursuit of revenge. That's a bizarre box, anyone who's bought the Spaghetti Western Collection box is going to be delighted to find out that £1 more would have got them Hang 'Em High. I see the HMV listing says Warner Brothers, a typo or has the MGM film library changed hands from Fox?

I had hoped this rapid reissue meant MGM had finally agreed to Warners' $1.5billion offer and we were going to see Fox products being replaced with Warner ones. I just don't see what Fox's reasoning is behind a renamed reissue (with an extra film) after only three months or so

It most certainly does. A slimline case for each.
For some reason, this was already on shelves in Asda today, in Sheffield, when I went in. So would've bought it if I wasn't trying to save money. Even though the transfers are probably the same sucky ones as before. Doubt we'll get much better... P.S. It was same price as on HMV site in Asda. |

Got mine on Monday (30/9) for just £32.99 I think it was at ASDA, bargain seeing as you get Hang 'em High, practically free! Don't remember ever seeing it before, enjoyed it too... yep, happy with this purchase, shame the dollars aren't better transfers, but they do look better than the DVD's, and I'd recently sold those on Ebay, anticipating the BD's.

I was tempted by ASDA too but instore HMV had the Trilogy boxset and it said it had "Artcards" and something else.
I'll get that when it's £20. I don't know if Play.com's £25.99 has the artcards but it's a good price still. I like artcards ![]() |

I've been eyeing this set for ages. Before I get it, can someone please tell me if the dollars trilogy discs here feature all of the special features from the recently released blu ray spaghetti western collection. I've found it impossible to find out online so far. Thanks in advance.

Would also like to see some Pics, if the individual cases are the "standard" UK size as opposed to "ultra thin" ones you can get with these types of Boxsets, I'd be interested, just don't want those US thin ones.
