What do you know about fun you have not heard the Rainmakers yet how do you know they are fun

Very ear pleasing too.

Here is the thing,

If you want a more fun factor oriented Dynaudio, look at the Focus series from what Rhett keeps telling me.

However the Excites are more laidback and neutral, Oh, and they are linear like the Energys. They will be influenced by the source quite easily.

Another thing and Rhett will tell. Dyns don't lie. If your source or music sounds bad, they are going to let you know. So if you think your Dire Straits SACD sounds great and then it sounds OK on the Dyns... well that is because, they are telling you that your disc doesn't have the best sonics.

When I heard them, I could tell that singer from Incubis had an untrained voice.... and it was starting to become funny because I couldn't hear anything else but his pitchy voice.... So I went back to some other music I had.

To tell you the truth the Brothers in Arms album is apparently one of the best recorded albums of all times so should still sound good with dyns as long as I have great SACD player. So the Totems are more forgiving I know this but the Forest is not so forgiving either and the forest requires some serious gear so if you take the plunge be aware.

yea, I don't know anything about your CD, I was just letting you know, that the Dynaudio speakers will be truthful.

I would not be to worried about my SACD and Micheal Jackson albums that I owned but more concerbed about U2 on those speakers, as much as U2 has usually great sound in a show for rock concerts the joshua tree's recording is absolutely aweful, I feel it's better with the remastred version but really nothing to be jumping up and down.

But I also get your point on Dynaudios you had braught that up before.

I know the Xcite x16 is quite nice and very coherent as Callas would say but I would like to know how good the center channel will perform. I want to audition as soon as possible since I have been racking up some OT and I might start my overhaul shortly.

Anyone heard the x12, just wondering how they perform in the lower end.
Not to mention I consider some Totems Raimaker I wonder how the X12 compares to it in the lower end.

Rhett I see you coming
Better late than never buddy!

I have not heard the X16 but had a chance to sit down with the x12s briefly powered by the Naim Supernait coupled with a NDAC and ipod plugged into it with lossless tracks. I would have to say that they are pretty linear and surprisingly have a wide soundstage. Resolution is very darn good and it's bass can be pretty punchy when called for. What can I say, they sound so distinctly Dynaudio

Then again, do consider that they were connected to some world class electronincs and even though the Excites in general are not very demanding of high current they will appreciate good current like all Dyns.

Just called my dealer they only have the X32 in stock but they will check with their supplier if they can get either the X12 or X16 to demo to me.

Steve you were right on X16 is 1600$ and X12 is 1200$ and the X32 is 2800$.

I'll know shortly when can get a audition.

Hey BigAl,
U have to listen to the x32s. Quite honestly, I have never been a fan of the excites(I'm more of a Focus kinda guy) but having heard the X32s with some Naim gear with streamed music from the Naim music server, I now have a better appreciation of what they can do. The soundstage was quite big and had some depth to it! They had very weighty bass and resolving highs. Reminds me a lot of the Contour 3.4s in its linearity and drive!

Hehe I'll make sure to listen to them since i'm gonna be there. Not sure I want the big towers in my living room so I want a bookshelf with alot of personality that can express themselves clearly.

Yeah that x32 is a 2 way design using two midbass drivers that extends quite low. I cant wait to hear that. I'm already Excited lol

That's the thing! They are NOT big towers; albeit they are short and slender that's why I was so surprised to hear how loud and big of a soundstage they had

BTW, we are heading your way, to Montreal this weekend.

Sweet I got a call back from my vendor they have contacted their supplier and they will let me know when they can have one in for audition I can't wait

BTW we are talking 37 inches tall this 2 inches taller than the Sttaf from totem and at least 1 inch wider this what I'm talking about for a small tower I have a tower slightly bigger than the size of the X32 right now.

It's not huge by all mean but in a small space it take up alot of it.

Where are you going in Montreal? East end?

No I want to listen to the bookshelf lol and will listen to the X32 when I get there it's because this store is like 35 miles away from my place, in the far east of the island and I live off the island of Montreal in the west suburb. So I want to make sure I base my choice on what I hear and not assumption.

Seriously, I want to compare apples with apples.

oh, and the specs on the x16s and x32s are very similar, so they probably sound close to the same. the X16s have a 6.7" driver and the X32s have dual 5.5" drivers.

Hey Ricg,

Actually, the Consequence SE are more like 2ohms. It took Solutions Monoblocks to have them truly express themselves without reservation!
