They've won I-AA championships, not I-A. I remember in 1996 when they beat UNI in the playoffs and Randy Moss completely dominated them. He was one of the best college receivers ever and it was unfair to watch I-AA corners try to cover him. Dez Bryant can largely thank Moss for the Cowboys drafting him because Jerry Jones always regretted not picking Moss and he didn't want to risk missing out on another talent like him.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1996_Ma..._football_team

The closest anyone came to Marshall in their 1996 national championship I-AA season was 14 points and they never scored less than 24 points any game in a 15-0 perfect season. Quite possibly the greatest I-AA team in college football history.

Randy Moss's last two college football season stats:

Season Team GP REC YDS AVG TD
1996 MAR 15 78 1709 21.9 28
1997 MAR 13 96 1820 19.0 26

Quick 7-0 lead for the 'Canes, a very nicely executed drive by Jacory Harris. I liked the no huddle look, and we only ran the ball once.

Hopefully you dominate osu

Spurrier looks like he's got his boys ready to play.

I wanna see how Lane does tonight

I work in an office with a lot of Ohio St. grads. I'd absolutely love for Miami to roll then. The Horseshoe is always a tough place to win though.

Looking like Miami is going to easily beat the 40 point spread against FAMU.

Growing up I rooted for them. These days I root for the school I graduated from, University of Central Florida. Though our program is still not improving as quickly as I'd like they are improving. I still do root for the Canes outside of my own school. Though this year we have to play them.

well I'm not a Gamecocks fan but they look impressive.

Edit: Question. Do some defensive players get to have he same numbers as offensive players?

We played you guys last year too, Central Florida is an improving program though. I really hope they are able to jump into a bigger conference when the big conference expansion happens. Being in a good conference is key to building a football program in most cases, I think they'd be a good fit for the Big East.

Actually scratch that. I just took a look at the schedules and UCF does not play Miami this year. The two teams were only scheduled to play each other in 2008 and 2009.

Gotta give Miami credit though, they play a tough non-conference schedule. They don't just pick creme puffs like UF every year. Here are there non-conference games for this season.

2010:
@ Ohio St. - #2 ranked
@ Pittsburgh - #15 ranked
vs. South Florida

UCF really didn't schedule any brutal non-conference games for 2010 but in 2011 we have games @Texas and home against Boston College.

Well when you play in the SEC you deserve some "easy" games

South Carolina, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Alabama, Tennessee, not to mention if they make the SEC championship game

Ya, I'm with you there. The SEC has been the finest conference in college football for a long time. But I hate these games against bottom of the barrel DI and even I-AA schools. Florida actually plays Appalachian St. I'm surprised any major DI school wants to play that school anymore.

Either way Florida and Alabama have very difficult schedules. I'd be absolutely shocked if either team goes undefeated. In fact they might both drop 2 games.

Florida plays:
@ Tennessee
@ Alabama
vs. LSU
vs. Georgia
vs. South Carolina
@ Florida St.

Alabama plays:
vs. Penn St.
@ Arkansas
vs. Florida
@ South Carolina
vs. Ole Miss
@ Tennessee
@ LSU
vs. Auburn

I forgot exactly what happens but I know these low schools get paid to go and play against these teams. Savannah State Basketball here goes to Georgetown and Notre Dame to play. Wish they came here but they don't. They have to go there.

How about the defending champion Alabama playing a home game against the brand-new Georgia State Panthers? LOL

In the past, I've appreciated Georgia's scheduling out-of-conference opponents like Oklahoma State, Boise State, Arizona State, Clemson, etc. We play Colorado @ Boulder this year, and in the coming years have home-and-homes with teams like Oregon. Of course they play Georgia Tech annually.

But opening with Louisiana-Lafayette this year? Embarrassing.
