Aiman, I did check with a bunch of other BD titles from my friend's 805,
and the same thing happened as with "Up"; it showed only DTS-HD MA (no ES), and the Back surrounds were inactived ("Toy Story", "Toy Story 2", "Bolt" and "Wall*E"). "Wall*E" Audio Menu Setup indicates: "English Dolby Digital 5.1 surround", which is a flat out mistake! ![]() But it is impossible to determine (from the 805, 875, 905, 885) if it has ES. I also checked "Dark City", "Pan's Labyrinth" and "HellBoy II". The 805's front panel display only indicated for all three BD movies: DTS-HD MSTR. But pressing the "Display" button indicated that it was indeed 7.1. And the Back surrounds were automatically engaged. Finally, I checked "Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas", and the front panel display from the 805 only indicated: Dolby TrueHD. And pressing "Display" it said 7.1 with the two Back surrounds engaged. * The MAJOR problem is with BDs encoded with a Dolby TrueHD EX Matrix and DTS-HD MA ES Matrix audio soundtracks (Lossless). As it will NOT activate those two Back surround speakers! Nor will it show for it! ...Only works with the Lossy audio tracks! The only way to get this is to upgrade your receiver (605, 705, 805, 875, 905) and pre/pro (885) and all the Integra equivalents to the next generation (x06 series) or beyond (x/x07 and x/x08 series). ...Or to Manually select Dolby Pro Logic IIx (Movie) audio mode, or its dts NEO:6 or THX Surround EX (Cinema) equivalent. Case closed. ____________________________________ Now, if you want to upgrade to the Marantz SR6004 (which is not a true upgrade in my book), you'll have to consider the poor video solution that is implemented in that receiver, as well the lack of DSP processing power and also the "Sudden Death" issue from the xx4 Marantz series. Check at AVS Forum for more on this. And here's couple reviews of the Marantz SR6004: 1. @ http://www.hometheatermag.com/receiv...4_av_receiver/ 2. @ http://www.soundandvisionmag.com/201...04-av-receiver Last edited by LordoftheRings; 09-23-2010 at 07:11 AM.
