Regarding Titin, it is nice to know that there are English options on the Disc, they are subtitles right?

On 18 October the BFI releases two rarely seen and previously unreleased films starring Hergé’s intrepid boy reporter Tintin. Tintin and the Mystery of the Golden Fleece (Jean-Jacques Vierne, 1961) and Tintin and the Blue Oranges (Philippe Condroyer, 1964) have been remastered to High Definition and are both released on DVD.

Shot on location with a flair that makes them look like James Bond films for kids, these live-action adventures will appeal to Tintin fans young and old. Both titles are beautifully packaged, featuring original artwork adapted from original film posters.

Each release contains an illustrated booklet featuring the first ever English translation of extracts from Tintin actor (extraordinary Tintin-alike) Jean-Pierre Talbot’s autobiography J'étais Tintin au cinema; fact-filled essays from Tintinologists Simon Doyle and Christian Owens and contributions by Vic Pratt, Curator at the BFI National Archive, and John Fardell, Viz comic artist and children's author.

Too bad they didn't include the excellent documentary Hollywood- Moulinsart, on the many tentatives to bring Tintin to the screen. It is a 50 minutes documentary made during the 90s for the french television. If I remember correctly, there is a english dub of this documentary.


They exist in BR in France with 1080i HD transfers. Except for the interlaced transfer, the restoration is very good.

Just received all 3 Tintin blurays..... BAD NEWS: they are region B locked, can't watch on my US bluray.... have to rip to my computer first before I will be able to watch. Now Im scare to othe the other Asterixs. Does anybody know whether the up coming Asterixs is all regions?? thank you

The asterix come from another company, Gaumont, so maybe they are region free. But they do not seem to include english tracks

It's best to wait to see if someone can confirm the English track for sure. France is so good at putting the wrong info on the back of their DVD/blu-ray covers.

The disc has both English and French DTS tracks

The disck does not play in in my Region A (north america) Panasonic BD55 playes. I get no video (all black) but I get the audio track, no problem.

I believe the problem is that the disc is encoded 50Hz instead of 60Hz.

the disc is region free... no problem there. even if the back of the DVD case says Region B !!!

disc is encoded at 25 frame per second insted of 24 fps.

Is the picture is cropped to 1.78:1 as announced on the back cover ?
