I don't think ANYONE should be ranked right now. It's ludicrous. I think week 4 or 5 is when the first poll should come out, once we know what all the teams looks like. Preseason polls cause issues like Stanford being ranked lower than a USC team that struggled against the worst team in the ACC over the last few years. They're a sham right now, and unfortunately affect things down the line

The ACC and Big East really need to have their BCS status re-evaluated. Right now only one Big East team (#21 West Virginia) and one ACC team (#17 Miami) are even ranked. No way should those conferences still be receiving a free BCS bid for the champion. They just steal a spot from far more worthy teams.

Agreed - another reason I hate the BCS. Just so so so stupid.

Totally agree. A team not ranked in the preseason top 25 has a tough time breaking into the top 4-5, even with a perfect season. Get a loss? Sorry, you're automatically going to be ranked lower than another 1-loss team that was ranked in the preseason polls.

That said, I loved when UGA was preseason #1 a few years ago. The season sucked, but I still have that preseason ranking to hold onto....

Yep if we lost those polls early it could change things drastically when the bcs comes out.

I just hope they hurry up and let Green play again this is ridiculous.

I would have run it over with a semi-truck before returning it and said "oops" sorry... it fell off a truck.

Ironically USC returned their copy of Bush's Heisman but still displays O.J. Simpson's on campus.

This is huge if true. The Gators have had a huge number of players arrested the past few seasons under Meyer. About time they take action. Aggravated stalking? What a dope. This is one guy the Gators cannot afford to lose.

Gators' Rainey 'not part of the team' after arrest

One of the key offensive football players at the University of Florida is at least temporarily off the team following his arrest early Tuesday on accusations of aggravated stalking.

Gators wide receiver Christopher Rainey, 22, of Lakeland, was charged with aggravated stalking of a woman he had been dating on and off for about three years.

Following Rainey's arrest, Florida offensive coordinator Steve Addazio said he “is not part of the team right now.”

"That's all I really have to say on that," Addazio said. "I hope you guys can appreciate that. I'd rather talk about getting ready for this game (against Tennessee)."

Florida coach Urban Meyer was not available for comment Tuesday. He will address the news media Wednesday on the SEC's weekly coaches' teleconference.

Just looked at the odds for that game and Texas is only a 3 point favorite. Might be a good game to bet the house on Texas IMO.

Yeah, Penn State left that squeaky clean image behind years ago. I have a ton of friends that are Penn State fans, and they have basically told me that they'll take the negative press with all the wins they have been bagging the last several years. You really aren't argue with that line of thinking, in sports winning truly is the most important thing. There is an obscene amount of money in college football and basketball.

Yup that's why I disagree with sanctions against schools like USC for giving Reggie Bush's parents a place to stay, that school pulls down quite a pretty penny annually.
