Harsh Times Blu-ray

Harsh Times Blu-ray Review

I'm a huge Christian Bale fan and I see that Harsh Times is only on HD-DVD. I was wondering if anyone knows if this movie is coming out to Blu-ray. It is produced by MGM so I figured it would be out on Blu-ray, sad to see it is not.

The US distribution rights for Harsh Times are held by the Weinstein Company. So until they decide to go Blu, there will be no HT on BD.

it's a good flick, has some funny parts...and some hard core stuff. The source material is BAD, it was shot on 16mm so it's really grainy and really soft.

It's a rental (even though i have the hddvd)

Just a Canadian version as far as I know:

http://www.amazon.com/Harsh-Times-Bl...9635225&sr=1-2

Aspect 1.33:1, is that right? Crazy Alliance...

Your thread reminded me that I wanted to see this movie but never got around to it, so thanks for that!

Its a hit or miss movie, but to me, I thought it was an excellent film...very underrated. I was expecting an overblown shoot-em-up action flick and instead I got a fairly thoughtful, intelligent character study. This is probably Bale's best non-Batman film since well...American Psycho. He really shines in this. In time, I hope Harsh Times will develop the appreciation it deserves.

That would actually be The Prestige. And while The Machinist doesn't hold a candle to The Prestige, it's certainly a heck of a lot better than Harsh Times.

Some elements work in Harsh Times. Bale does a pretty nice acting job. Not a great movie overall, the ending is a little over the top.

I felt soooooooooooo sorry for Bale's Mexican girlfriend in this, the way he treated her at the end was heartbreaking!

The movie was fine until the
[Show spoiler]cloning crap
was brought in. That disqualified the movie on my good Christian Bale movies list.

The Machinist was good, but I prefer 3:10 To Yuma myself.

For sho man. Have you seen the trailer to The Fighter? He looks great in it. I think this blu-ray release is going hand in hand with the release of that film in theaters.

Awesome to see this finally getting released. I already bought the Alliance Canadian version so I wont be buying the US release unless its better in the audio and picture department.
