Canada I Am Legend Re-Release Blu-ray SteelBook - Nov. 23, 2010

I think this deserves its own thread as it's a highly controversial and bold move to re-release the 2nd most sought after SteelBook.

This time without the blue banner.

I'm getting one for sure. Will be in touch with my good friend Rasmus from Axel Music to see if their website is gonna sell these (they're Canadian based).

I like it better than the original thick-banner edition. I wonder if the value of the original will hold.

It will, as this is the only one REAL one
With the blue Banner

I really doubt that, unlike the Rambo re release in Germany which was horrid especially with the printed logo, this one actually looks better without the blue banner. I should sell my copy while I can lol

What if after you sell it you see this is not gonna happen?

Just my own opinion. Do you honestly see it keeping its value? Look what happened to the German IAL, not really different here.

I already own the standard US BD, German SB, and the Collectors Box Set, and I think I want this one too!

I think that if these steelbooks actually become long term collectables the new IAL would have no effect on the value of the original. They do reprints of rookie sports cards and comics all the time. Just because they look the same does not make them rookie cards. There is even huge difference between the 2 with and without the blue border. A true collector would always want the original whether it be IAL or Iron Man or which ever steelbook, no matter how many reprints are out there. I just worry about the market flooding with too many steelbooks in general.

At least if there is a way to see a difference. It becomes difficult once the re-prints are 100% identical.
Then it starts to have the original price stickers attached, but this is OCD level already

As longs as there won't be a re-release of the holy grail Steelbook, they can do whatever they want. I am not shocked anymore....

I would agree ! Glad that the blue banner is removed in re-release, I'd be upset if it's like German IAL/TDK re-release.

I think the fact that this one doesnt have the banner, gives the original release more value.

No, Even though I have the original I think the prices will plummet.., same thing with re releases of Superman Returns with TrueHD, and some German rereleases.. etc
