She's one of the best villains of all time -- maybe the best female, along with Alex Forrest and Nurse Ratchet
Another great PsychoB!tch from hell is Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction.

Ok i seriously dont know how to describe this amazing movie. It bad directing and bad acting done perfectly!!! Doesnt make sense right?? Just see this d@mn movie it is amazing. I almost passed out! From the horrible stunt doubles to the crazy ass dialogue to the cheap ass cut scenes. These movie has to be the most hilarious movie i've ever viewed!!!!!! If you enjoyed Shoot'em Up or Machete just a little you will LOVE this flick.

This movie is simply MUST OWN BOTTOM LINE!

5/5
One of the best parts is the bar fight scene. Classic! For those looking for something offbeat, you gotta see this and it can be had via netflix streaming.

It's like when you have certain things in life go on a certain path like you always have until something so traumatic happens that alters that path forever. Once changed, that path leaves very little room for looking back or in many cases, room to deal with old issues. I think those issues would have been things most of those people would have been more than happy to have left behind. What do you think?
I am glad that it worked for you and that you enjoyed it. Your points are valid too. The war would overshadow the events depicted in the town when viewed from a global perspective, certainly. But for me, I spent those hours very closely, and very intimately with those specific people. I was invested in them. I am not the type that needs EVERY answer, but I felt the film provided NONE. And the mutiple stories that were playing out were heavy and intense, not fluffy things to be dismissed. Thats how it hit me anyway, like a book missing its final chapter.

-awesome film overall: great cast, great script, great directing = great movie
-Viggo put the theme better than I could in the Extras: "When you strip everything down -- when there's nothing left -- is it just about survival? Or is there something more?"
-I'd also ask: if its not just about survival, and there is some other guiding principle - whats the benefit to that which outweighs the obvious benefit to being solely guided by survival?
[Show spoiler]seemingly, by not engaging in cannibalism, their "inner fire" (or whatever you call it) burned bright, giving them hope, and -- presumably faith that good things would happen to good people. What goes around comes around, so to speak

-I also liked how God was a character in the film. Mentioned about 15 times. In any apocalyptic scenario, the conventional attitude is "how could God let this happen?" but this presumes a human-focused design. Perhaps God's design doesn't revolve around us. Shocker.
-I also liked the use of "inner fire" which is a good substitute for some who don't like the G word IMO, it doesn't matter what you call it -- an inner guiding conscience.
[Show spoiler]Viggo said his son was his god -- and in an sense he was: several times, he provided him with moral guidance.

-a few questions remained, but may be me looking for details that aren't there:
[Show spoiler]when the mom gave birth: was that to the boy? or to another kid that miscarried? how did the apocalyse happen - nuclear? or from falling trees -- I assume they're just a consequence of the apocalypse?
-I was a bit stumped at the ocean scene: why were they heading there? to meet people or for expecting more food?

PQ: 4/5 (soft and grey but obviously intentional)

AQ: 4.5/5 (great!)
Glad you liked it.

[Show spoiler]I subscribe to the theory that the event was a natural phenomenon, not war or a man made accident. If it were the results of bombs, the effects would have dissipated after 10 years. The fact that the sky appears to be permanently ruined tells me there was some kinda of cataclysmic environment change. Caused by what? I dont know. Could have been a meteor shower containing viruses. Could have been epic global volcanic eruption (ongoing).

The reason they were going coastal and then south was because of the rumors. Just like in Waterworld where there were rumors handed down through the generations that "Land" actually existed. No one had seen it, but the rumors remained. In the Road, there were rumors of Sun peeking through somewhere in the south. Sunlight would be their saviour.

Iron Man 2 - If your complaints for the first where the things I listed, then you should like this one a lot more as those complaints are gone....but maybe you'll find new ones

For the record, I think this one is MUCH better

Adventureland - I didn't even make it through this one

I was at my friends house and he had it on (he wanted to see it and hadn't yet).

So we started it up and watched like 30 minutes before he asked if we wanted to watch something else or keep watching this.

No one picked option 2.

I liked Braveheart when it came out, but now it's kinda hard to separate Mel the actor from Mel the buttwipe and the movie doesn't seem quite as epic now. It seems like just another vehicle for mel to satisfy his bloodlust. Weird, because i love Apocalypto.

Gladiator is decent, but all the awards it won gives it the overhype syndrome.

Kindom of Heaven has some great visuals, but in the end i just don't give a crap. Same thing with Troy.

The Last Samurai is lame-0.

I admit i have battle fatigue when it comes to movies these days. I wanna see "The Owl Movie", but i'm not sure i wanna watch owls fight for 90 minutes and i love owls in real life. Actually, all birds of prey are quite awe inspiring to me. All predators really.

Sounds like you have the doldrums. You need a good sprint through the lion or tiger exhibit at the zoo. That'll knock the cobwebs loose.

I bet its because you are the same age as the people in the movie. I think a lot of the appeal is the "reminisce" factor for us older peeps.

Watch it again in 10 years and get back to me.

it's very easy to separate if you don't buy into all the media crap about him--
yes, he's a flawed individual-- as most Hollywood types are--
he's also a brilliant director and a wonderful actor....and the movie is what it always was and will be-- a first rate classic

That's possible.

I'll set that on my calendar to PM you in 10 years

I'm not a horror fan but every once in a while my friends say, "Let's watch a scary movie!" so I do see some. I actually enjoyed Sorority Row. I gave it a 3/5.

Is it a great movie? Definitely not, but it was a decent/fun watch
