Angry Dented SteelBooks

So I finally opened up my Monsters, Inc. steel that I purchased from Best Buy to find a nasty dent on the front.
Luckily it looks like I'll be able to get an exchange.
Needless to say, I'll be opening all of my SteelBooks from now on.

My question is, how often does this happen to you?
Is there any way to fix it?

It depends on how big the dent is. You can easily fix the small dents when the tinware is not streched by the dent.

I never notice dents because I never search for them because I dont care for them because I am not an OCD because I have other hobbies because I have a right to have other hobbies because I am uman being because my parents are humans because their parents were humans ..............
[Show spoiler]

Even if I do see them, (rarely) I dont care even a little bit.

I care. If there is anyway to exchange I do. So far I've been lucky with not getting ones with dents. I did drop Up and it got dented on the corners. At first I was pissed, then I realized it looked like it was supposed to be that way. This was about 6 months after I got it. I got Toy Story 3 the other day, I know an ironpack, and I exchanged that one because it had scrapes all over the back of it. It's not worth getting if it's in bad condition.

I'm OK with tiny scratches and dents, but this is a big-ass dent.

Here's a photo:

WOW!!! That is a wopper of a dent! From a certain angle, it kind of looks like it has a pimple. Try popping it. I would exchange that in a heart beat!

Pimple! What a gross vision. I can't imagine having a SB looking like this. It's probably the worst dent I've ever seen anywhere in blu-ray.com =[

I'm just glad they have more in stock.

If it had been A Bug's Life that was dented, I'd be screwed.

It was covered by a sticker on the plastic wrapping.

Yeah, it is in a fairly isolated location.
I've been able to find most of the Disney steelbooks there.

That Happened to me with Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest. the packaging was hiding the dent. I didn't return it though. I open/watch all my steelbooks and I'm not afraid if they get a little wear on them. the dent on mine was no way as crazy as yours though lol you should return that one!

I know what you mean.....I plan on opening all my steels/ironpacks right away from now on.
I just discovered a tiny dent on BatB, but it's not big enough to worry about.

You have to be careful. I can find plenty of SteelBooks around, but if you look closely, nearly all of them have some sort of minor damage. By now, you have almost a year's worth of SteelBook collectors and even general customers who have picked up and played around with whatever SteelBooks are remaining in stores. Many on the shelves now have been returned.

If you're not used to inspecting SteelBooks, you can easily miss them until you get them home. I would think you would have been able to feel that MONSTERS INC. dent through the plastic and sticker, but I've never seen the actual thing.

It happened only once with Lord of the Rings.

I now run my finger over the steelbook and inspect all visible corners.

So you're willing to pay a he'll of a lot of money for something that is Brand New when you purchase it, then has a dent when it arrives?

There is nothing more annoying than a dented steel!

I would definitly return it instantly!

When inspecting the steelbooks, you have to do the 360 turn and then inspect all the corners and run your hands across the steelbook to see if you can feel any imperfections.

Needless to say I have never picked a steelbook with any dents from Futureshop. Recieving them in the mail from amazon.fr and .de however is another story
