+1. The story was average and the acting was terrible from the lead actors. The songs and music were a breath of fresh air at that time and it made what Kumar Shanu is (or was).

This has been the case always and more so in India. People mix up quality and popularity/success. Classic case is Akshay Kumar. He is popular and successful and most of his movies are big hits but if you evaluate them on a quality perspective they are all crap.

The last good Akshay movie I have seen was Sangharsh (he acted well) and Hera Pheri to some extent. I remember him saying in one of the TV interviews that he has never won any award as best actor. Well, first he needs to act and prove himself...Now, what did the Industry do? they gave him a couple of awards next year. Why ? he simply sells at the BO and a business driven industry thought that why not give a few awards to our money earner.... he sells....who cares about how he acts...

Another classic case is Himesh Reshammiya - He is a just a better than average musician but then the entire nation got crazy with his songs he got called into shows and became judge etc...he became more of a spice factor in shows than a quality judge....and then he got into acting.....that was too hard for me to digest after seeing the trailor...He became a phenomenon and a success that simply shows success and popularity has nothing to do with quality...

And last but not the least - Rakhi Sawant - what a joke... a media orchestrated fake celebrity supported by public for cheap entertainment....Keeping the word 'Quality' near 10000 miles of her will be an insult to the word. Can't blv that people watch her shows...

Yeah this happens in India. It is time people start watching quality movies and listen to quality songs to appreciate what is good and what is cheap and rubbish...But you can't blame people as the creators needs to play a major role.... they need to feed quality content to masses and change their taste...most importantly basic level of education to judge what is good and bad and what is right and wrong....
