Any chance of these releases making a 2010 debut? Plus, where's the money Lebowski?

Well, I am very excited to see the Blues Brothers up there. It seems like it should have come out long ago.

I'm in for a lot of these titles, and I agree 100% with the JAWS sentinments in this thread. Star Wars aside, Jaws is #1 on my wish list.

I'll be getting 9-10 of these.

I hope Disney, Sony, etc have similar plans for releasing catalog product in the near future.

I do agree this looks good for Universal and 2011 but if Jaws were to come out in 2011, it probably wouldn't be until spring/summer.

I will be getting:

Animal House
Fast Times At Ridgemont High
Out of Sight
To Kill A Mockingbird
Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind
Happy Gilmore

I hope Universal includes the original mono track for Animal House. The 5.1 mix has an instance of clipped dialogue.

I suppose it's also too much to hope they fixed the frame jump as they cut from the exterior of The Dexter Lake Club to the interior when Otis Day is on stage. This frame jump is only on the Double Secret Probation Edition. It did not exist on any previous releases. That's why I still have my Universal Collector's Edition on DVD. (It's also autographed by Stephen Furst - Flounder.)

Nothing against Universal but I wish Criterion would put Dazed And Confused out on BD instead. They had so many great extras while Universal had a cheesy 70's PSA

Default Dazed and Confused Finally??

I see on the home page here that they are going to release finally the Dazed and Confused BD.

There is no release date and not a lot of info, where do they get the pre-order info from? I would hate to see this turn into a Punch Drunk Love situation where it is a pre-order title with no date in sight...

I don't know about anyone else but lately I've been finding it rather difficult to get excited about Universal catalog releases. They do such a mediocre job on the majority of them. Looks like they may turn that around though with their recent transfer of Psycho and hopefully they'll give the same treatment to The Birds and the Back to the Future Trilogy.

+1, the Criterion edition is an incredible looking SD transfer (compared among other SD transfers), much better than the Universal master. WHERE ARE YOU CRITERION WITH THIS RELEASE?!?

Plus, the second disc had that great special feature about the 10th anniversary.

Surely you don't believe Criterion can just re-acquire the rights to distribute this film without renewing a contract for the blu-ray with Universal...do you?

To be blunt, I can wait until 2011. I know of three deluxe sets I'm getting this year anyways (and others are on my Christmas wish list) and that's before shopping for others. I am fine waiting until early 2011 LOL.

Sure is. Just saw a great 35th anniversary screening of it at the Boston Film Festival.

That'll keep me happy for a while, but I *do* hope to see Jaws on blu by this time next year.

You have a point for sure, but they have reacquired the rights of plenty of titles to put on blu-ray. Criterion had no trouble acquiring the rights from Fox and Sony for Wes Anderson movies, other contemporary "classics". They should have no trouble. Plus, by the extent of special features on the DVD, Linklater prefers Criterion handling the distribution of "Dazed and Confused."

I just hope they'll get a chance to release it on blu-ray...someday.
