Why is the UK's lengh 166 min and the rest of the world 174 min?
I holded myself on the first release of Avatar in order to get the extended one, and i usually import from Uk unless a better option is out there, and this case seems like that. Unless those mins are from extras and not film runtime i'll pray the US release its region free.

on the extended edition trailer, it shows it to be a digipack style folder instead of amray.
its for the US edition though so not sure if UK will be same or if it will be amray.

Where did you get that about the UK release being shorter?

It's just a normal Blu-ray case, it's called Amaray.

Just pre-ordered the normal extended edition, in the end this won out in not being able to justify the price.

Quote from Play.com on the £89.99 Limited Edition Blu-ray page:

"Due to popular demand, this product has now sold out. If you have pre-ordered the product from us, please rest assured that we will fulfil your order and dispatch the item so that it arrives with you on the day of release."

http://www.play.com/DVD/Blu-ray/4-/1...n/Product.html

They didn't last long. Quite glad I pre-ordered, hopefully this'll be a bit of a rarity in the future.

Just a heads up to all those who have pre-ordered the limited 1000 run, Play.com states: Includes exclusive film cell, printed with the signature of director James Cameron - which basically means the signature will be printed and not originally signed by Mr Cameron.

Still available from Zavvi/TheHut and hmv, although both are a little more expensive.

I wasn't even aware that other retailers were selling the limited edition. I wonder what Play.com's allocation was?

Just glad I pre-ordered when I did.

I'm sorry, I just can't justify buying the Limited Edition after the Alien Egg and BTTF set at the end of this month.

The standard 3-Disc will suffice for me.

I was thinking the same thing, Seen as there are four retailers and 1000 of them possibly 250 each...?

Maybe, but something tells me that there isn't such an equal divide. The Hut and Zavvi are technically the same company, so would appear odd for them to have half of the production.

I bloody knew it, what a rip off!!! Glad I gave the Steelbook a miss first time round as it means I don't have to double dip on the Extended Collector's Edition

Both are wrong running times.

The theatrical cut is 162 minutes (161:40 to be exact), and the new Extended Edition is 178 Minutes.

Rip off level has just gone up one or maybe 3
