but al least we agree on The Children!!

Yea the effects werent the greatest but I didnt think they were terrible either. I also didnt think it was slow moving. I was never bored. Again its not a great film but I did enjoy it. Famke did save the film as obvious she is a good actress. I thought for a low budget film it wasnt bad. But we cant always agree. Got Em!!

Thank you I got it now. I have to watch it again. So Shutter Island story was similar to this.

(4) He can't accept the truth that he killed her, so makes up a story that some dude broke into their apartment and killed his wife. He also makes up that his memory problem started by getting hit on the head during the burglary when it actually always existed

to impress your teacher, ask him this:
[Show spoiler]Hey sir, if Lenny can't remember anything going back to the burglary (after which the memory loss supposedly started), how can he remember that he has memory loss?

The Princess Bride

Director: Bob Reiner
Writer: William Goldman
Mains: Cary Elwes, Mandy Patinkin, Chris Sarandon

"They just dont make movies like this anymore"

What a beautiful magical family love story. This is a film you can pop in at anytime. I true gem that has lived on thought the ages. There isnt one think i can say negative about this film. What sticks most the the magical score, i cant get it out of my head. As one of my friends mentioned "they dont make movies like this anymore" sad but true this is a gem in its own class.

The story is simply fascinating, great story, great movie with a great deal of replay value! AS YOU WISH!

Must Own!!!!!!

Superbad

i sometimes forget how great Superbad is. sure it's full of crude humor, drawings of penises for god sakes and a character nicknamed "McLovin", but Superbad also sort of has heart. not as much as The 40 Year-Old Virgin i don't think, but more than most crude adult comedies.

and for those who rent or own Superbad, please, please, please listen to the commentary. i love listening to commentaries, and as far as hilarious, fast paced commentaries go, Superbad is easily a "top 5" in that category. even though they rarely talk about the movie, who cares? the stories are great fun and they seem like a real family with a bunch of, "hey tell us the story of..." phrases going on.

i think what also helps me enjoy Superbad is that i haven't seen many Jonah Hill or Michael Cera movies other than this. i have a lot of friends who cannot stand them anymore and can barely watch Superbad because they're so annoyed by these two. but i haven't seen much else from them so i don't have that same mentality. luckily

Superbad was very crude and immature. They are what, 15? I found it very realistic and funny.

in the commentary they talked about how this story was based when they were 13, 14 years old so nothing that happens here should be looked at as "too immature" because 13 year old's do nothing BUT immature, crude stuff

The best part is I fall for Emma Stone a bit more every time I see this, she's just SO gorgeous and I can't stop laughing when I watch it either. 5/5 across the board from me on Super Bad.

The Bourne Supremacy

while i was busy working on some stuff and blabbering this very site, the girlfriend finally sat down and watched The Bourne Supremacy, and actually wanted to without me begging her to!. such a happy moment for me

so while i wasn't really watching it intently, i've seen it over 10 times to know and remember exactly how much i love the film / series. the beginning always kind of bugs me because it starts with a hazy flashback. i always wished the film would start with showing Bourne now, and THEN having a flashback, but oh well. that's really my only complaint.

some terrific action, an absolutely amazing score / soundtrack that really adds another dimension to the frenetic pacing and tension the film has at times. and of course the great "she's standing right next to you" moment i always love that

for me personally, the Bourne films are better than anything that's been done with the James Bond character / franchise, and the abysmal Mission Impossible films (never got into those, don't know why...). this is where i come for my action fix, and it does exactly what it's supposed to.

Watched The Crazies (Remake)

Well it definitely didn't live up to my expectations. It was still a decent film though, nothing too great but nothing too horrible. I like Timothy Olyphant and he played his part as well. I think the Military kind of took away more of the horror aspect of it more than anything.

I think the movie is hysterical. My second favorite comedy, arguably, behind My Cousin Vinny.

3:10 to Yuma

3.5/4

I blind-bought the Blu-Ray at Costco the other day, for about $9.00. I did it mainly because this site gave it a great review, and for the price, I said what the heck. I was amazed by both the PQ and AQ, and by the film itself. Smartly written with great actors, and entertaining from beginning to end--not to say that it didn't have its drawbacks, though; it's a bit on the predictable side. Anyway, another great movie from was perhaps the best year in film in the last decade: 2007.

I loved Identity and Ultimatum, but didn't care for this one. This is what I said in my review:
[Show spoiler]Unfortunately, Supremacy I did not like. The plot was just a mess, without any really clear explanation of who on the CIA side was dealing with the Russians, and how. I even paused and rewinded at important parts, and it was still gobbly gook.
Maybe I'll give it another try some day.
