Default Total Terror 1: Demonic / Uninvited - "What an epic disaster of a release."

Total Terror 1: Demonic / Uninvited

So who's getting this?

I might get this if it's region free, just to see how bad it is, I found the review entertaining, also felt a little sorry for the reviewer who had to do this.

Peter Benchley's the Beast was pretty bad PQ as it was 480i upconverted to 720p.

I owned these movies on DVD. Demonic looked awful on DVD, I do not believe it was shot with anything more than a low-grade camcorder.

I wish if a company like Mill Creek was going to release a blu-ray maybe at least make it something worth releasing, like the Monogram John Wayne films for example.
I have the 2 disc dvd release of a bunch of those films that they put out that I got at BB for like $5; why not release those?
If they used some decent prints, the 1080p bump alone would make it a very worthwhile release.
this crap is just a total waste of time.

You're talking about films like The Star Packer and Randy Rides Alone, right?

My favorite Mill Creek DVD is the Spirited Killer Trilogy. The first film is Tony Jaa's first acting gig. Now, if they could correct the problems with the DVD and do a Blu-ray release, that would be great.

For the first film:
2.35:1 Aspect Ratio
Thai Audio
English Dub Audio
AND ENGLISH SUBS (Which is missing on the first film)!!!

Second film:
2.35:1 ASPECT RATIO (Aspect ratio is stretched from SCOPE to MATTED)
Thai Audio
English Subs

Third film:
Again: 2.35:1 ASPECT RATIO (Aspect ratio is stretched from SCOPE to MATTED)
Thai Audio
English Subs

I made this mock up cover art from the DVD and cropped the bottom off of the cover:

The English dubbing on the first film is F**KING HILARIOUS!!! I recommend the English dubbing if you need a good laugh.

Since the blu-ray's quality is terrible anyway, those looking to torture themselves with these movies should maybe look at Mill Creek's DVD set:
http://www.amazon.com/Blood-Bath-12-.../dp/B003VOVW22

It includes 10 additional movies and is only $5.49.

I have a huge problem with these types of releases, and it's akin to the problems with the Dragon Dynasty releases as well:

If you (i.e. the distributor) are not willing to put the proper time and effort into a BD release, and if you are instead willing to knowingly encode poor (technical) quality masters of poor quality films onto the format simply to use the new format as a sales platform, then please, save your money and go DVD-only.

At this point, in 2010, releases like "Total Terror 1" are exactly the kinds of releases that should be DVD-only--if anything. It makes me angry to think that there are distributors who will pay more for BD media and authoring, when what they wish to release only mars the reputation of the Blu-ray Disc format. I would greatly prefer, that instead of pumping out dozens of poor-quality releases, these people diverted that money to obtaining well-made catalog films and restoring/remastering them properly for BD. If they do not have the funds to do so, then they should not consider using the Blu-ray format until it has become as widely and inexpensively available as DVD is now.

I just finished Demonic. And all I have to ask is; "Was there a script?"

Seriously, this film is nothing but jumbled non-sense. I'm just going to say that this film is nothing but
[Show spoiler]an excuse to show nudity for 84 minutes
. Literally, that's it,
[Show spoiler]tits and ass with those s**ty 50 cent gumball machine Bubba Redneck Teeth
for 84 minutes. And, Tom Savini,
[Show spoiler]is barely in it. He's in it for two minutes tops
. All of the money must have went into getting him to appear in this garbage.

On a scale of 1 to 10, I give Demonic a 1/10.

Now, let's talk audio and video...

Video, I don't know what's wrong with it. It's got these weird vertical lines that pop up constantly in certain shots. It's really soft too. I'd give it a 1.5/5.

Audio, it's ok. 2.5/5.

The other film The Uninvited is much better, and just like Tom Savani, the late Jack Elam (who has 1st billing by the way) is only in it for one scene in the beginning (betcha he worked one day and probably got "scale" for being in the fiilm)

Will Uninvited make it worth the $6 on this one? I mean, I'll probably watch Demonic every Halloween for fun.
