Right I'm worked up a list, though I will add to it

Up - Opening 10 mins - Emotionally fantastic, up-lifting and heart rendering, had me in a flood of tears

Reservior Dogs - Opening and
[Show spoiler]Name giving
scene - great dialogue, still to this day my fave movie ever, weird how I did the
[Show spoiler]ear cutting
scene for my Film Studies course work

Evil Dead 2 -
[Show spoiler]Fight with demonic possessed hand
- the first time Evil Dead becomes truly goofy and is still one of the best parts of the trilogy and never really seems to top it.

Apocalypse Now - Opening - very haunting and mellowed out, instantly drags you into the movie without putting you out with a false edge of security.

Kick-Ass -
[Show spoiler]Hit-Girl rescue scene
- the big key moment of the film that pushed it high above anything else, I believe I got in trouble by Diesel I think for comparing it to sexual pleasure, well at least it shut Czar up for calling me biased

Anchorman -
[Show spoiler]News anchor fight
- sheer lunacy

Fargo - Opening - As much as the film let me down, I did love the opening sequence where he goes into the bar, it really makes the film feel like everything will go right, it such a shame I didn't like the film all that much

The Godfather -
[Show spoiler]Baptism/Mob killing scene
- The scene plays perfect to whats going on within the story and characters

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly - Final Duel - perfectly paced and tense scene with a magnificent score and sense of pride and justice on the line

Iron Man - Opening - yes another opening scene, I like how it paints Tony Starks character and just drags you by the legs into the film

Wall-e - final scene - a real tearjerker,
[Show spoiler]as there is a genuine sense that the character isn't going to make it, if it really did follow though, it would of been the most heart aching film I have ever put myself through, I love the character too much to see it though.

Fight Club - Final fight between
[Show spoiler]Tyler Durden and The Narrator
- the effects in this scene astound me

A Clockwork Orange -
[Show spoiler]"Singing in the Rain" scene
- One of the toughest scenes I have ever sat through

Toy Story - Flying scene - just a great sense of achievement with this scene, not only is it a bench mark in film, but also an achievement as the
[Show spoiler]characters put their differences aside

The Usual Suspects - End Scene - a great twist

The Matrix - Lobby Scene - so much carnage and destruction can not go unnoticed

Blade Runner -
[Show spoiler]Dying in the Rain scene
- pretty amazing speech, eerie yet sympathetic

Inception - Hallway scene - Pretty amazing fight sequence that almost puts the film down because of it's greatness and the rest of the films inability to follow suit

Pulp Fiction -
[Show spoiler]Bruce Willis picking his weapon
- Very fun sequence, that's silly yet works, in it's cartoonish perception of voilence

Kill Bill: Vol 1 -
[Show spoiler]Crazy 88
- See above

The Thing -
[Show spoiler]Blood Test scene
- Very tense and creepy scene, suspense is masterful

Man I have so many in my head but a more recent one I love is in the first Transformers movie. The part about 30 mins in when Barricade is chasing Bumblebee and the Used song comes on. I don't know what it is about that scene but it works really good for me.

4) Blade Runner:
[Show spoiler]This scene is largely a result of Batty's final moments when he says, "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time. Like tears in rain. Time to die". I find there to be something almost poetic to these words, and the performance he gives is astounding and the dove flying off symbolizes the significance of this moment. Of course the fantastic visuals are still present throughout this scene as they are throughout the entire film.

Words can't describe how amazingly awesome, beautiful, and moving this scene is...

wow this was tough i have so many favorite movie scenes but you asked for 5, I think i got it.. no particular order

Kick Ass
[Show spoiler]hit girl rescue scene, my jaw dropped between the score and big daddy giving hit girl directions left me with chills

Any Given Sunday
[Show spoiler]The Speech Al Pacino gives about Inches such a inspiring piece

The Godfather
[Show spoiler]the end when they are kissing the new Don's hand and Diane Keaton looks into the room and Al Neri closes the door very powerful stuff

Gladiator
[Show spoiler]the ending when Russel Crowe dies and they pick him up and show their honor, truly inspiring

The Last Samurai
[Show spoiler]pretty much every scene in this movie was my favorite but to narrow it down to one it would be the last final stride knowing they had no shot against the guns they continued to show their warrior status for pride and glory

Back to the Future
[Show spoiler]The scene where Marty wakes up in his mother's bedroom after getting hit by her father's car. It's absolute comedy gold, and Michael J. Fox and Lea Thompson are just fantastic in it

Casino Royale
[Show spoiler]The opening black and white scene in Prague. It's just really cool, and seeing how Bond got 00 status is awesome to me. And Daniel Craig knows the role out of the park in less than 5 minutes

Star Wars: Return of the Jedi
[Show spoiler]The escape from Jabba's Palace has always been one of my favorite Star Wars moments since I was a little kid. It's a really great scene, with a lot of action, and blind Han Solo trying to save Lando makes me laugh so much

Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl
[Show spoiler]The finale scene in Port Royale where Will saves Jack from being hung. It was a great scene showing what Will had become over the course of the movie, plus Jack has an incredible awesome escape and lives to pirate another day

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
[Show spoiler]Indy saving his father from the Nazis is great, and the first moment we see Harrison Ford and Sean Connery together is great. They have awesome chemistry and the humor shared between the two in such an intense situation is fantastic

Toy Story 3
[Show spoiler]The ending when Andy gave away his toys to the little girl. It's so incredibly heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. Then when Woody says good bye to him at the end....It makes me tear up just thinking about it.

Zombieland
[Show spoiler]When Tallahassee finally gets his twinkie at the end of the movie. He finally got everything he was looking for. And it's fantastic

The Matrix
[Show spoiler]When Neo stops the bullets when the agents start shooting at him. That was so cool hoes:

Ask me tomorrow and there might be 5 different.

Glengarry Glen Ross -
[Show spoiler]Alec Baldwin's speech. Put that coffee down! The coolest speech ever

The Thing -
[Show spoiler]The test scene where they're tied to the bench. Talk about tension

Full Metal Jacket -
[Show spoiler]Meeting the Drill Sargent in the barracks for the first time. He's terrifying and hilarious at the same time.

Buffalo 66 -
[Show spoiler]The coffee shop at the end. A weight removed and a life redeemed.

The Untouchables -
[Show spoiler]That's the Chicago way speech. I love the framing of this scene with the conversation up front and the church in the background. Connery knocks it out of the park too.

2001: A Space Odyssey
[Show spoiler]near the end when the astronaut (can't remember his name ) is flying through space / time and we see all the wicked colors. nothing like that before or since, and it's almost hard to watch but it mesmerizes me every time i watch the film.

There Will Be Blood
[Show spoiler]end when Plainview kills Eli with the bowling pin and mocks him relentlessly. i loved the entire film, but this scene was definitely the defining moment on this delicious milkshake and i love it because there's so much tension, so much hatred between the characters and Plainview was right about Eli - he was a fraud. and i never expected him to get beat to death! that was shocking and i loved it.

[/SPOILER]
OMG...this is freaky...did you see my 4-5 posts over the past 2 weeks saying how my favorite part is the 3 prong bass track when they're approaching Kurtz's compound??? Freeeeakkkyyy ..and great minds think alike

2001...also my favorite scene! I can't even put it in words its so powerful. Words can't even begin to describe its magnitude. Words are just signposts -- that scene is the destination One reason I do love it and can put in words -- shows the MAGNITUDE of space = so vast we can't even comprehend it. 3 facts prove how vast the universe is:
(1) light goes from earth to the moon in one second
(2) it would take light 2.3 million years to get to the closest galaxy from us
(3) there are billions of galaxies!!!

that is freaky! and no i didn't see that! i'll have to go find it just to really get an eerie feeling about it so it's a bass track? good to know. i was trying to think of the right word and couldn't figure out what the fudge it was, so thanks!

every time i have someone over who looks and sees 2001 in my collection and asks what that is i don't say anything. i just put the movie on and go right to that scene. their expressions afterward are priceless

love it.

The Dark Knight: The Magic Trick

Zombieland: Opening Credits

Monty Python and the Holy Grail: Camelot

those are a few I can think of.

In no order:

1) Full Metal Jacket:
[Show spoiler]The latrine scene between Private Pile and the Drill Sgt. The culmination of Private Pile's mental breakdown. The music in particular creeps me out.

2) Batman Begins:
[Show spoiler]"What is that? BACKUP!" Liftred right of out Batman Year One, I geeked out big time when Batman called in the bats.

3) Star Wars:
[Show spoiler]Luke uses the force and destroys the Death Star. The whiney farmboy take his first step to being the galaxy's last hope.

4) The Godfather:
[Show spoiler]The scene where Michael becomes the Godfather in more ways than one. Very good parallel.

5) Pulp Fiction: The Bonnie Situation. Fantastic dialog.
