Hm, looks like it's not on Amazon.fr...

I guarantee there will be a significant price drop in a few months for the American version, but I don't know if shipping will kill it for you or whether Amazon.com even ships to France.

Might be about the same for Amazon.fr in € but you'll have to check since I can't access it for some reason.
Aye. Just a question though. The Amazon page makes no mention of the SteelBook in the product description, so I'm guessing this is a North American exclusive?
There's no French version either.

The cheapest place I've found online is VideoGamesPlus, with cheap and effective shipping. My only worry is that, being a Canadian store, that the game will get a bilingual cover/spine. Can anyone confirm/debunk this?

The UK Collectors Edition has been known to always have a steelbook included.

I don't think the UK would have 2 different versions of the Collectors Edition (one with and without a steelbook), at least I hope not since my preorder is with Amazon.co.uk (it had better be a steelbook as advertised).

I'm willing to assume at least that it will be a steelbook, where ever you order it from in the UK.

Also, if you preorder one of the listings from HMV.com (exclusive to them), you also get exclusive DLC codes and artcards, both of which are not in the Collectors Edition. I want the artcards and codes, but budget restraints prevents me from ordering the game twice.

If I were you, I'd confirm whether you have no other option before resorting to buying a North American version if you can get it cheaper and faster from England or another European country. Videogame steelbooks usually drop in price as opposed to their film counterparts, especially ones that are released in America, so there shouldn't be much rush to pre-order.

It actually depends. Look at the Ultimate Sith Edition for the PS3. I think that's why people are hesitant to wait too long on this one.

Actually the first dropped to about $30 for a while. I remember buying one for someone in the forum for a little less than that.

Yeah, but that was an exception (which is why I qualified with "usually") and even then it's not that expensive now (looks like $45-65 new or used). Also, I know some people are anal about their G2 case sizes, but here the PS3 and 360 version are virtually identical, which is even less incentive to purchase it early (as opposed to the PS3 version of SW:FU Sith Edition, which looks better because it doesn't have that ugly white 360 stripe across the top) and it's being released across the world.

I think there are more cases though. Besides being G2 sized, the PS3 steelbooks tend to generate higher demand down the line (e.g. DMC4, and Naruto). There are other differences as well in that PS3 releases are on one disc and play on the better system ....before I get jumped that was just a fanboy joke .

You are right in that others just tank (RE5) and can be had for little money. I guess the next factor is how soon you want to play the game. I tend to agree with you though, but my point was that this title makes people nervous. I'm getting it early for that reason, as unfounded as that may be .

Yeah, I was just cautioning against spending too much (I regret doing it for Splinter Cell: Conviction on the 360). But I wish I could afford to get it now. The game does look pretty sweet; hopefully they fixed the flaws of the first.

From CollectorsEdition.org:

After yesterdays discovery that the official Killzone website let slip news of upcoming Collector’s and Limited Editions Roger Moe sent us a tip with some insider details…

The two editions are as follows

Killzone 3 Collector’s Edition:

* Steelbook Packaging
* “Blood and Thunder” DLC map pack

Killzone 3 Helghast Edition:

* Authentic Replica of Helghast Helmet/mask and Stand
* Exclusive DC Unlimited Helghast Figurine
* Killzone Artbook
* Killzone Collectors Edition Steelbook with PSN voucher that offers:
* “Blood and Thunder” DLC Map Pack
* Dynamic PS3 Theme
* Killzone 3 Soundtrack
* All pre-order items (TBC)
* Infamous 2 Demo (TBC)

The Helghast Edition seems like the one to get, though the SteelBook packaging for the Collector’s Edition is sure to please some. No idea what these will actually look like or how much they’ll cost. As always we’ll post more details if we get them.

Sweet mother of Helghan, that sounds so awesome! Hopefully it is not ridiculously expensive.

I pre-ordered the Force Unleashed Limited edition and now that the reviews are out i kinda regret it.

Hell i haven't even played the first one yet. But i figured i would eventually get around to it and in turn would eventually get the sequel, so why not get a really kick ass collectors edition now.

So 90$ for a game that's apparently not that great is a little steep but my love for collector packaging and steelbooks will win this one i think :P
