I watched this twice within two days, lol. It was weird too because I was suppose to get this at Target, but decided to see what Walmart had it at.

Definitely worth it...big fan of the series! Yes, even AVP

while i don't think it's "boring" when i watched this for the first time in ages a few months ago i felt the second half was much, much slower than the awesome first half. i'm sure it was supposed to be built up with tension, but if i remember correctly i rarely got a feeling of suspense and tension, so that may be why it dragged to me. but not the whole thing, and not boring to say the least.

Defective disc? Codecs that I don't have? I am confused...
Did you try playing the movie with the PS3 disconnected from the Internet?

My copy came in from Foxconnect today.

Could be the 3.50 firmware, but I experienced it too with the 3.42 firmware. I let it sit on the black screen for like 3-5 mins and it eventually loaded up the trailer and menus and such. I think they may have forgotten to put a progress indicator for the BD-live update or something and just put up a blank screen. But just leave it on the blank screen and see what happens, it should come up eventually.

And to the guy that doesnt like Predator, there is a very small chance that youll like Predators. It is structured the same way. Very different story and plot, but structure is almost identical.

Same thing with me. Tried it last night with my PS3 slim firmware 3.50, except it loaded once and I watched the Machette preview and then went to the menu screen. Took it out and now just a black screen after the Blu-ray message about it having the most recent BD live features. I just returned it to Walmart and got another one. I'll try it when I get home and also try what the previous poster suggested about waiting longer. When the screen goes blank you can hear the disc cycle down and it just sits there on a blank screen. Maybe it's a download without a progress bar as suggested.

Im not sure how this movie ended up a 4.5 video quality when it was very grainy when I watched it the other night. Much worst in dark scenes.

my new one load really fast so maybe mine was defective because this one loaded really quick. No sure why the first one loaded once and never again.

I tried to find the wal mart version but they was sold out so i just ended up going to bb and got it there. Had a short wait for a manager to get my $3 off code because i couldn't get them to text it to me and the clerk was cool about it and just got a manager who put it through for me. Still haven't watched it yet though baseball playoffs have been keeping my interest.

just watched it. Wow it looks so much better on BD than it did in the theater. in the theater, the movie looked blurry as well, contrast was blahh, and color was crap, and this was in a relatively new theater.

anyways, on the BD, i think the PQ is awesome. i'm lovin it. the AQ was great too, but i thought there were some inconsistencies. bass was reserved for the predators themselves it seemed, which was ok i guess.. i did like that each gun shot had its own distinct sound. sometimes surrounds were great, other times you expected to hear something and didn't.
[Show spoiler]i thought the scene when morepeus sneaks up on the team was mixed much lower than the theater. the surround effect just wasn't as prominent.
overall though, i'm stoked i have it on the shelf next to the original. i will say im a little disappointed with the spine of the case though. did they really have to squeeze robert rodriguez presents onto the spine?

You must hate grain right ? I think the grain was very very fine and hardly notable. Even in dark scenes. I think this was one of the best transfers I have seen since long time.

Default The best sequel to Predator

Finally a film that does the original justice!

Once again, some people have some 'splaining to do...this movie is very fun to immerse oneself into.

Great cast of dirtbags being hunted by soul less alien creatures.
Great CGFX, superb stunts, great set backdrop (Hawaii) and Brody does much better than I was led to believe.

My 2nd fav Predator franchise now.

AVP
*Predators
*Predator (*ok...I think they are tied now that I think about it)
Predator 2
AVP Requiem (lol)

[Show spoiler]I love how every nerd who got wedgied in high school calls any movie with a ficticious creature in it...a "B" movie.

"Predators" does for the franchise what "Predator" could not do in 1987...deliver a huge sci-fi action vehicle on a big budget with superb technology, the technology wasn't there in 1987.

Sure, Predator is a classic and will always be 'the original', one of my fav Ahnold flicks but, the PQ/ AQ and replay value of this is better due to more depth and more flair thrown into the effort.

It pays humble homage to the first, and in essence is the ordained sequel to Predator, much more than Predator 2 ever dreamed of.
The story arc, the hunted characters, the dynamic of the fleshed in personalities, the CGFX of the monsters...are all done top tier.

I liked the fact they added creatures and a sub-species of Predators that were also hunted.

I just watched this on BluRay and it comes alive, nearly reference PQ, the twists and turns are super.

Brody did much better than I thought he would and the critics downgrading on him is missplaced imo.

The 'Extras" with animated back stories and making of, is phenomenol and makes me like the film even more.
The Producer is showing us how effed up our own world really is and this "hunting" escapade is right on par with our own 'failed' humanity in some cases.

A must own for any afficianado of the Predator franchise.

Bravisimo.
