Will 80's/90's sticoms ever go Blu-ray?

Which is a big part of the problem. The popular shows tend also to be the longer running shows.

Only the ones shot on film would be of any value to have on Blu anyway... and I'm not sure how many comedies were shot on film.

We know Seinfeld was... that's how they are getting good transfers in HD now (though I wish they would have left them 4:3).

IF a show was shot on film, then I'm all for releasing on Blu... of course there has to be demand for it.

But the shows that weren't... shot on film that is... I see no real point in doing so.

Absolutely agree. I'm not a big fan of reformatting in general but TBS in particular is terrible. The 'widezoom' setting on most tvs does a better job and I really don't think I'm exaggerating.

The Seinfeld DVDs used the same HD remasters, so if they ever get released, they will be in its original ratio of 1.33:1.
