LOL I knew you were gonna be curious about em.

Let's not forget I heard in a FS but in HT room setup as HT.

I wish I could listen to those in a proper environment but all in all their HT room was not so bad. Madonna concert was on from the Sticky and Sweet tour. OMG all I can say they look phenomenal in person bro in their Piano black finish you don't feel like touching them.

They used what they have best at future shop to drive them, the Yammy DSP-Z7. First impressions is they are defenately a big improvement over the RC-70, I mean the tower is a good 2 inches taller, half a inch wider but I did not look at the depth. The driver seems to be slightly different than the RC-70. The aluminum surrounding is thicker and the phase plug seems to have some nickel inside rather than aluminum, it's much shinier than the one found on the RC.

Sounds amazing , Imaging like you would expect from Energy speakers, Amazing staging and superb details, now let's not forget this was a live concert on bluray so it's hard to judge how good they really are but I feel tose puppies have alot to offer, they are gorgeous in person. I would love to try them in 2 channel rig with a great IA to see what they can do cause FS is not the place for auditioning.

All in all I loved them but I rather not give a verdict too quickly but I think they are the real deal and they defenately are good step up over the RC. Some people may not think that way but to see an hear them in real life I think gives a better idea of the differences.

The space between the driver is slightly bigger than the RC also and the Midrange and tweeter are very well integrated together. What amazed me is the mids felt just perfect where sometime you felt a bit lacking on the old RC (extremely warm) Those just get the perfect balance with a wow factor.

very interesting. I said it all along, that I didn't think Energy would simply update the RCs and call them Veritas.I honestly think that Energy should develop a single speaker like PSB has and put it in the $1500/ pr range so that youre not looking at such a jump from the CF-70s to the V6.2s

So how do they compare to the Totem Rainmakers and the Dynaudio X32s?

I really mean this and seriously you are able to appreciate the differences in person. I really think the driver is at the base the same but I think they improved alot of things in it and we expected X-over network has denenately been reworked, they sound really laid back with a tiny bit more mids than the RC as I said, I mean they are superb.

The one good thing about FS is you ban get them for 30 day trial ang bring em back if you don't like em.

So you can buy them and go try them on some serious gear and then take the real decision.

I cannot really compare now with the X32, I mean I wish I could try them on a 3.3 Moon or A nice Cary Tube Amp or an Arcam A38 to really appreciate them but I think they are up there bud at 3800$ a pair at FS I think they better be good. I would have to listen to my own material.

I have a feeling these could outperform the Rainmakers and X32 with the right gear and I'm being objective but from that room I can't tell.

They are serious speakers.

I would expect that they would perform pretty well, the last set of Veritas speakers were compared to the Revel Performa 30s, and were slightly favored over them too. I would think they are better then the Rainmakers and MAY have an edge over the X32s, but I would be willing to bet the Focus 220s would put it on them.

There was a guy there at the Dyn event and he was looking at upgrading his Focus 220s to either the Contour 3.4s or C1s. I think He felt, the C1s gave him the biggest reason to upgrade. But he was stuck wanting floorstanders. He was coming back this next saturday to spend a good amount of time with the 3.4s and C1s, and he was gonna bring his 220s to compare. That speaks alot to the 220s, that you have to double what you spend to upgrade.

i would have a hard time to compare them the Forest as well I mean Model One has this truly amazing sound and Forest at 4000$ wow.

I think the Veritas would more than likely outperform the X32 without to much problems but Truly I can't tell from that gear and music type, it's an amzing speaker but you see I did not have the right gear nor environment to give a final verdict on them. I have to get some Phil Collins some Diana Krall, Some Michael Buble and I cannot forget Brother's in Arms from Dire Straits on a nice tube and then I would tell you what the outcome is.

Ill say this, the X36, was a great speaker, and probably right there with the Forest and Verita 6.3, as its a $3600 speaker also, and with the added mid-range driver, it had great seperation and very delicate and smooth highs. And it had some THUMP. Like I said, the guy with the 220s said the 220s were good step over the X36s, I think the 220s may best all those speakers, I need to hear the 220s now. Rhett absolutly loves the 220s. He thinks they are much better then the 32s. Although he really was surprised with the 32s when he heard them.

Im am happy with Energy for developing such a great speaker to be in the coversation with that of the Forrests and Excites and Focus series speakers.

My question is Have you tried the Forest? Model One? I'm sure they are the Focus league, they are something really special. I would love to audition the Focus 220 or even the 140.

Default Rc-50

Hello

I am considering below setup for my HT. Usage is 40% Movies and 60% Music.

RC-50 Fronts
CC-100 Centre
CR-100 Surrounds
ESW S10.3 Subwoofer

Keeping my budget into consideration, I have auditioned Dali Concept 6, Energy C500, Paradigm Reference 6, Polk Audio RTi A5, Monitor Audio M6, Monitor Audio RX6.

Monitor Audio RX6 was very nice but way too expensive. India is very expensive when it comes to quality speakers.

Although i would be paying $2100 for above HT. 4 months back, they quoted $3200 for the same package. Now RC and C Series being discontinued, dealer is offering some discounts.

Any recommendation on above selection. Should i consider any other brands.

Thanks,

You sure can consider other brands but if you could pair the RC-50 to the LCR center, it would be a better match.

Try my speakers too I tried what was the closest to your X16. The Hawk wont sound like the Rainmaker at all, Ironic, I know.

yeah, I will. I wanted to ask to hear the Rainmakers in his office, but I felt that would have been rude considering the event.

The Excites.... take the Staffs and make it a more neutral speaker and that is the X16s.

So a touch more laidback.

Sttaf are a touch more laidback than the Rainmaker. Rainmaker on the 5 i was as smooth as the X32 on the 3.3 Simaudio.

Conclusion pairing is important also.

I have to agree with that rude it would have been I mean you have to be there in respect if you want them to treat you with respect.

Dont get me wrong, there is a lot of top end sparkle to the Excites. Think of it like this, at a concert hall, the Excites would put you in about the middle of the Hall, and the Sttafs about 1-2 rows further up. Neutral, which I am sure you heard with the X32s, is what they are.

However with Alternative Rock, Jazz, Pop music, they play everything so very well.
