Crank is on the verge of becoming the first BD title to hold the #1 HD disc ranking. I think it has grabbed the all time high for a BD title.

6:30 pm:

Crank: 298
Batman Begins: 291

Blu-ray: 843
HD DVD: 756

Clerks II was a one day wonder, it looks like.

I think that until the two most popular HD DVD titles are out on BD, namely Batman Begins, and V for Vendetta, any comparison is quite unfair, as these two titles from Warner have been dominating the HD DVD chart for quite some time.

Well, since the formats are nearly equal, those Warner titles would probably push BD into permanent domination.

The first six months of 2007 is when Warner plans to catch-up. And we are starting to see what the BD exclusive studios have planned.

It's not even going to be close by the spring.

Well sort of news again, for the first time a BD has taken the lead in the primary rankings,

Crank #282
Clerks 2 #306

Both are the highest for their respective formats.

http://www.amazon.com/Crank/dp/B000K...?ie=UTF8&s=dvd

If I am looking correctly Crank is at 272. Is there a better way than looking at each dvd to figure the rank? Is there a way to compare sales ranks of top HD DVD's and Blu Ray.

Oh and prestige is 291.

The crossover happened today!!!

BD top 10 has a higher average rank than the HD DVD top 10.

Earlier than many on here expected.

They said it would NEVER happen. Now, it won't matter.

How will they try to spin it now, I wonder? They put so much import in those bogus Amazon rankings, well, now, here you go....

I suspect they'll use the French gambit. They were all in the resistence (didn't trust the numbers) all along.

Or, they'll claim top 10 isn't a valid measurement now. They'll insist on the number that shows HD DVD in the lead. LOL

Another new milestone:

Today at 11:00am. Top 25 titles:

Blu-ray: 1557
HD DVD: 1610

Once those announced titles go up for pre-order, it will be game over.

Crank reaches 177. Highest ever ranking for a BD title.

BD in the lead the last TWO hours now for the top 10.
