Must have took a LONG time.
There is also a very informative user review on Amazon as well. Haven't read through it all though and not sure how accurate it is.

Ah, crap. 3 films I forgot to put on my favorites list, and all 3 are high up, forget them because I don't own them and haven't seen them as much as some of the others:

Solaris (2002)
Blade Runner
Brazil

Now I have to redo my list again

I got this from Amazon recently but need to rent it from Netflix first. I hate that it's wrapped in plastic on my shelf... it's staring at me

Lol Disturbed, I've been meaning to mention this to you for a while now. When you want to put something in a spoiler tag, highlight the text and then click the spoiler button. The way you're doing it looks like this:

Your text won't be appear as a spoiler tag if it's not written within the spoiler brackets. Hope that helps.

Tried....but I couldn't stop my mind from comparing them to the ones that are ordered

Maybe I'll just have to look up what movies I've rated 5/5 one day
....but I doubt it, if I can lock in one more, I'll be happy with a top 5 list.

TTT improved on the few weaknesses I had for the theatrical version (Theatrical - 4.75/5). There was only one, maybe two things (I haven't seen it in a while) that were added that I didn't like. So overall it was bumped to a 5/5.

Return of the King added some good stuff, but also I felt some of the stuff added sort of detracted from the movie a little (I don't remember any specifics besides the scene with Saruman). I still give it a 5/5, but with the theatrical there is hardly anything that I do not like (Elijah Wood's performance is bloody annoying to me most of the time throughout the films...but that's pretty much it for RotK).

*Note - I have not read the books and my thoughts on the series are based purely on the movies.

Maybe as soon as Bearcat gives a Vin Diesel movie a bad rating

Gojirra.”

Another fine sci-fi monster epic from the 50s, I think easily comparable to other flicks like “Them!” or “The Blob.” And by today’s standards, the original “Godzilla” has its cheesy moments; the monster itself moves agonizingly slowly, stomping on the fakest-looking model ever built. Combined with some over-the-top acting, the movie has quite a few laughable moments.

Regardless, I still think it’s one of the better movies of this type. The plot’s not very inspiring, but it is populated with fairly decent characters. There are a few parts that seem a little unreasonable (
[Show spoiler]I’m not sure if I get why the one-eyed dude felt the need to sacrifice himself in the final scenes
), but it’s never overly convoluted. The film overall is meant to convey an allegory to nuclear warfare, and as the monster leaves behind a trail of fire throughout Tokyo, it is fairly apocalyptic.

As noted above, the production value is very limited. But, it is well-filmed, acting is decent (even if it does have some over-the-top moments). Pacing can be a little slow, but this time around I thought it was alright. The music score is pretty cool.

3.5/5 (entertainment: 3.5/5, story: 3/5, film: 3.5/5)

This Blu-Ray is a prehistoric monstrosity brought back to life via radiation. That is to say that the image quality is pretty bad; the film is loaded with scratches, dirt, and print damage galore. Most of it looks really soft; the first ten minutes or so are especially bad, and then it sharpens up slightly. It's still nowhere near as sharp as other great classics. Some parts of the screen wavered inexplicably. The only good things that can be said are that the OAR is the most complete it's ever been, and contrast levels are superb. Sound quality is not terribly great either; dialogue is a little fuzzed out, and there is a lot of noise (pops, clicks, scratches, hisses, etc). This film needs a restoration really badly (for US releases anyway).

PQ: 2/5, AQ: 2/5

"A kid grows up in a old folks home, he or she is immune to the pain of death because it happens so often in addition he has the chance to learn from all these people that lived their lives"

Aye David Fincher almost cried in the special features. This is was his most personal film he said because of the recent death in his family.
Good points. I've only seen it a few times but I like Benjamin Button a lot. It's fascinating watching him live a normal life, mostly acting his true age yet opposite of his body's age. As you pointed out, he begins working, has his first drink, has sex for the first time, all while growing up. These are typical things for a teen, but he looks old and for the most part he lives a very simple, elderly lifestyle. As he begins to look younger, he lives a normal life of love and happiness with Cate in their middle years. This is where they're both at the same place in life. As he gets older, he's passing Cate in age and he acts with his young body, taking off to travel the world.

I can't wait to watch this one again, as it's been a while. Anyone who has a nice sound system in their HT setup knows that the AQ is killer! I use the hospital thunder scenes, the U-Boat firefight and the boat foghorn as demo scenes!

Definitely give them both another shot! Fight Club is such a kickass, almost perfectly done film. Everything from the message, the grimy look and feel of the film, the witty narration, the kickass score that provides the perfect mood... I love it!

It's Alive (2008) - I dont think I ever saw the original so I cant compare the two. This film was alright and couldve been better if it had a bigger budget. The acting was bad in a lot of parts and the CGI was mediocre at best but there were still some cool moments and a couple moments of decent suspense. Nuthin I would need to see again but it was decent. Got Em!!

Film Rating - 3 stars (out of 5)

The New Karate Kid. 5 out of 10. The action scenes were cool, still cannot touch the original in every aspect. Jackie Chan saved this movie. Why was this movie 2 and half hours long?!

How To Train your DRagon. 9 out of 10! Awesome movie. My two year old neice was enthralled with this movie. This a movie the whole family can enjoy.

[Show spoiler]Was surprised Jessica Alba died like 1/4 of the way in, also surprised at how much crap Affleck is getting away with so far in this movie. Says Koteas and Pullman are in this but for some reason I haven't noticed. Can't wait to see how it ends.

impossible. and i love Fincher, i really do, he should have declined to do this. as much as i love his work (even the films of his i dislike, his directing is still great imo) this isn't going to be good. it doesn't help that the "original" isn't even that freaking old, but shows how typical American Hollywood thinks when it comes to foreign films (in that they probably think no one has seen this masterpiece because "it has subtitles" ) and that's a shame.

there is absolutely no need for a remake here. this is a true gem, AS IS.
nothing good can come of this decision

(in no way is this directed at you of course, simply the movie)

Why are we talking about this as if it were "news"? It has been discussed for months now.

While it is certainly "possible", it's extremely unlikely. I give it a .005% chance....you know, like a snowball in hell.
