Now, wouldn't that bit of shameless, crawling audience-kissup normally come under the header of the old "By the time you hear a trend joked about on a TV sitcom, it's already dead" rule?

And whose fault WAS it, I ask you?--Not his a bit.
He's done his part of his profession to try and anti-typecast himself, and for all his hard work we just keep pushing him back down that well.
I hope you're all proud of yourselves.
So when Jim Carrey at an MTV Movie Award special refered to himself as "one bad Motherf***er" when he won something and Samuel L Jackson went up and corrected Jim by saying "No no, Jim, you're one funny motherf***er, Me, I'm one bad motherf***er," who would you like to blame that one on? Give it up, no one is disrespecting Samuel L Jackson, the man has tons of talent. But he's also made some catchphrases that I am sure he's proud of. And I am sorry, but Snakes on a Plane blew goat cheese and Samuel knew it. So what did he do? He went and had fun with it by going back and making it as over the top as possible and he made it funnier. But if you want to try to make all of his films into art, go for it. But the rest of us will continue to think of lines from other movies that Samuel L Jackson could've delivered better.
