10/1 - Halloween TV Version (1978)
10/1 - Halloween II (1981)
10/1 - Halloween III (1982) 1/2
10/2 - Rob Zombie's Halloween
10/4 - Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers
10/5 - The Descent - Best horror movie in the last 10 years.
10/6 - The Descent Part 2 - Changed my rating from 1 1/2
10/7 - Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers
10/8 - The Exorcist - Still the scariest and most disturbing horror movie ever imo. A masterpiece.
10/9 - Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers 1/2 One of, if not the darkest entries in the original series. Awesome acting and a completely evil Michael makes this one of my favorites of the series.
10/10 - Rob Zombie's Halloween II (Theatrical Cut) 1/2 - Watched the theatrical cut DVD last night which is kind of hard to find in brick/mortar stores. There are a lot of alternate scenes and a completely different ending which I like a lot better because A. Michael doesn’t speak and B. They use music from the original Halloween instead of “Love Hurts” at the end. I think the movie as a whole flows a lot better and I really tried NOT to like it given so many hate it, but I ended up loving it more.
10/11 - Night of the Creeps - I haven't seen this movie in over 20 years and boy has it aged. Imo Tom Atkins saved this movie and there are some fun moments during the climax, but there are a lot of cringe worthy moments as well.
10/12 - Sleepaway Camp 1/2 - Low budget slasher movie with really bad acting and a lot of cheese. Kind of predictable too with a huge WTF moment at the end.
10/12 - Sleepaway Camp 2 - Much better sequel that takes a different approach by showing the killer the whole time. A lot of really funny scenes too.
10/13 - Frozen 1/2 - Just when you thought it was safe to...go skiing. I liked this movie...especially the wolves. I thought they were badass.
10/13 - Sleepaway 3 - Angela is at it again. 2 was much better. After watching these, I realized that 2 and 3 are different animals than 1 and 4 (Return to Sleepaway Camp).
10/13 - Return to Sleepaway Camp 1/2 skull - Talk about a completely unwatchable movie. The guy that we're supposed to feel sorry for is probably the most unlikeable person in the whole movie. The ending was kind of fun though.
10/14 - The Omen (1976) 1/2 - My first time seeing the original. A little slow but interesting.
10/14 - Orphan - First time seeing this one as well. I have to give it 5 stars. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. A lot of really creepy moments. This might give The Descent a run for it's money.
10/15 - Pet Sematary - An old favorite. It has aged quite well too.
10/16 - Damien: Omen 2 - I probably shouldn't rate this since I couldn't finish it. I just completely lost interest in this movie. Extremely boring, which ties into my next movie...
10/17 - The Exorcist II: The Heretic - Linda Blair is nice to look at, but the movie god awful. I don't know if it's just me, but these 70s era religion inspired horror sequels just didn't cut it.
10/17 - Predators - I know this might not really be considered horror, but there is some good kills. This was a really fun ride and I like how they mentioned the first film. Highly recommended.
10/24 - Planet Terror - Do not watch this with a woman that doesn't like "gross" horror movies. That's what ruined it for me the first time. This time around, I actually had a great time with it. A lot of funny parts and buckets of blood and bbq sauce! Great Carpenter-esque score too.
10/25 - Friday the 13th (2009) - This is my 3rd or 4th time watching this remake, and I liked it a lot better this time around. It seems to take itself more seriously than some of the other entries and Jason just flat out rocks in it. I hope they make a sequel eventually. It really makes me curious as to what Platinum Dunes could've done with the Halloween franchise.
10/25 - Halloween: H20 1/2 - I know this is a more popular entry and it did save the franchise, but it just doesn't click with me. There are some nice moments in it like the "face to face" scene, but it all seems too "over-produced" and I don't really like that in a Halloween film. Also, I don't find a 5'3" Michael threatening at all.
10/26 - The Shining - My favorite Kubrick film...a classic. The direction, the score are all perfectly done.
10/27 - Black Christmas (1974) - Considered the actual first slasher movie. I discovered it a few years ago while watching the Halloween 25 years of Terror doc. It's been a favorite ever since. Some pretty solid acting too by Margot Kidder and Olivia Hussey. Some creepy obsene phone calls too.
10/27 - Evil Dead II - I've never been a die-hard fan of these movies like alot of you guys are, but I really like part 2. It's got just the right mix of horror and comedy.
10/28 - Antichrist - It is really hard to rate this movie. It definitely causes a reaction, and it contains one of the most disturbing images I've even seen on screen.
10/28 - From Dusk Till Dawn - Really fun vampire movie.
10/29 - The Strangers 1/2 - This movie has "suspense" written all over it. I've never been more afraid of a door.

Cortland apples rock. Just thought I'd let you all know..

10/29 The Shining What really needs to be said about this one?
10/29 Nightmare on Elm Street Great horror flick. Transfer could use a little more love, but it still looks and sounds better than the old DVD.
10/29 Boo 1/2 This movie doesn't get much love, but I like it none the less. Its a little over the top, and it tends to go off in too many directions instead of focusing on a single group, and its a total ripoff of Night of the Demons, but still a fun watch with some creepy visuals.

10/28 Monster Squad
10/26 Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman (Novel)
10/25 Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman (Novel)
10/24 Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman (Novel)

Decent remake, though I'm not the biggest fan of the original.

The Fly - 1/2

Very well done, I liked this one a lot. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing Videodrome.

The Evil Dead - 1/2

Not my style. It was ok, though I was thinkin it was gonna be funny at least. I'll give the Evil Dead 2 a shot soon

Drag Me To Hell -

What a bad film, I should've stayed away from it after seeing the trailer. I guess this could be kinda fun for some people, but I'm finding that I'm not a fan of Raimi's style. After the first 20 minutes, I began fast forwarding it to the "interesting parts" and ultimately fast forwarding to the end.
Thats kinda funny! I would rate Drag me to Hell, Evil Dead and the original Halloween 5 stars each! The one I like the least is The Fly.. We are certainly different

Urban Legend (1998) - 1/2

Not a bad entry in the 90s wave of teen horrors. I remember watching this when it first came out and don't think I have seen it since. Not as shocking as most movies today and it didn't bring much new to the scene but I did like the premise of the movie. I was surprised to see when I checked IMDB for the year of release that the movie was rated R, I think this one would be PG13 if it came out today. I know lots of people love Scream but I never cared for it, ya it may have got some more people interested in horror, but it was also the start of the very generic paint by numbers who done it teen horror that I think turned a lot of people off the genre at the same time. I know it did for me, when I was a teen and these were coming out I was more interesting in The New York Ripper and The Prowler than I Know What You Did 2 Summers Ago.

Tenebre is my favorite giallo, and i think my favorite of Argento's films (though that might change month to month of week to week). its like an amped up Hitchcock movie with a pinch of Lynch and a lot of splatter. plus a Goblin score and John Saxon, what else do you need?

I watched The Shining last night. It wasn't as scary as it use to been. I guess I'm getting too old for horror movies.

Too many family activities...won't be able to watch anything till tomorrow...

Looks like it'll be Night of the Living Dead 68, Halloween 78 and Army of darkness.
