My list would be like this.

Alien 10/10 damn near perfect!

Aliens 9/10

Predator 8.5/10

Predators 8/10

Alien 3 hmm... I think it's a 7/10, haven't seen it in ages.

Predator 2 uhm... 6/10 I think as I haven't seen it in ages also, but I've ordered Predator 1 & 2 box set (2008 release).

Alien 4 4/10 I loved it as a teenager, now I know better

AVP 1&2... they simply don't exist...

Predator is one of my favorite films of all time, so that's at the top for me (just between the AVP and Predator movies, not Aliens).

I was pretty disappointed in Predators. I was expecting much better. The first on is still the best.

I saw Predators last night. I enjoyed it, it was very much in keeping with the original, though I was disappointed the Preds didn't use much in the way of weaponry (as seen in P2), but it was a worthy additioin to the franchise.

However...

In the trailer there is a shot of Adrien Brody with dozens of red dot triangles on him, suggesting loads of Predators targetting him. This doesn't appear in the movie, what that's all about? Anyone know?

Alien4 was embarrassing. The only thing wrong with AVP was the rating, you can't make a film with these creatures and not have any blood and gore!! Every time someone bit the bullet the camera cuts away so you don't see anything!! Had it been rated correctly it might have been better, although many still have issues with Predators in an arctic environment; the Predator films pretty much established they like the heat.

I'm looking forward to the new Alien movies simply because Ridely Scott is in charge.

I was watching AVP2 the other day and one thing kept bothering me.

In Alien, it was established that the Alien bled acid. Really bad acid. In fact, just a small amount of the stuff nearly burnt through the hull.

Let's consider the ending of AVP2 where the aliens where battling it out in the hospital. The predator was killing the aliens left and right, the humans had their victories, etc. Despite all of the alien deaths, the acid didn't have that same effect on the hospital. Wouldn't it make sense that if an alien blew apart on the roof of the building, its acid blood would burn a hole straight through the building? I don't get it. Look how the one dead alien burned through the experiment room in Alien 4. I don't recall seeing the acid blood being that potent in any other scene, or any other scene involving an alien bleeding out inside a building or structure.
