NBA Elite 11 Cancelled

NBA Elite 11 Cancelled EA has decided to cancel NBA Elite 11 altogether. The decision comes a month after the game's last-minute delay.

The cancellation was announced during an EA conference call with investors. Chief Operating Officer John Schappert revealed that development of future Elite games would be handled by EA Tiburon. Elite 11 was being developed by EA Canada, who had also handled several installments of NBA Live.

Live was previously EA's flagship basketball sim series. However, they decided to re-brand the franchise as NBA Elite, perhaps to emphasize that they had made big changes to the basic formula. New features being introduced in Elite 11 (the first game to carry the Elite tag) included dual stick controls.

Elite 11 was first slated for an October 5th release. However, the game was delayed until 2011 to allow for extra polishing. At the time, EA stated that they will be providing updates to NBA Live 10 throughout the current NBA season as compensation.

So that copy of Elitle 11 sold on ebay might actually turn out to be a bargain for whoever won it.

It's a good thing they cancelled this game. I was watching a video on youtube yesterday. Video was hilarious! It's the one where Andrew Byrnum is just sitting at midcourt with his arms straight out "like Jesus on the cross" is how the guy who did the video described it. Talk about buggy. I'd post a link to the youtube video but I'm at work and can't access it. Just search for Jesus Bynum NBA Elite or something like that if you want a good laugh at a video game's expense.

That's all they've been doing with the new releases anyways. I kind of like this idea in general.. Perhaps pay $10 a year for an update.

It's pretty bad, I was in tears by the end. Supposedly the report is that whenever the AI would skip an animation it would automatically revert to this base pose. Yikes.

Dang i didnt think they would cancel it all together..i like nba live better than elite anyways tho...2k11 is one of the best sports games ever so EA had there hands full this year...I still am tempted in grabbing nba live 10 if there doing roster & dna updates....anyone have the game confirm there is updates happening? & like what? Did they change the players numbers like lebron wearing number 6?

Yeah I have 2k11 and NBA live 10 ea is still doing updates
