I've chosen blu, I have a ps3 (stood in line at bby for 3 days last year), 6 games and about 5 movies so far. Just because I choose to watch things over with an OBJECTIVE eye verses drinking ALL the KOOL AID as you have done, don't belittle me.

Any week that were not in the 60's MINIMAL is a MORALE victory for HD Dud. We are in the xmas season, and we should be blowing the doors off HD Dud, not a close game. That will not end this war, in this instance just getting by like the patriots the last two weeks is NOT acceptable. We NEED to be running up the score.

I am not belittling you....you are not looking at things with an objective eye...

I still give you the benefit of the doubt...but you have to realize that winning every single week for a year straight is quite astronomical...

we run up the score most of the time...you have to acknowledge the fact that they aren't exactly going to be a laydown every week and when we don't get 60%, that is them at their highpoint...

we could have easily lost a couple of weeks here and there or even been blown out of the water...but still win..every week...

I wouldn't be concerned...

..seriously..

Sure, OK. I guess you ignored all of the other posts in this thread explaining why the numbers were good. I sure as hell am not blind, a fan-boy, or whatever, but I really get tired of people complaining when the percentages are down a small amount in an OFF week! Don't worry, it will be back up in the mid 70's next week, if it's the same as this week, then perhaps you should worry.

If people really think (2) is true, then watch out for Bourne and Potter on HD DVD.

Harry Potter is arguably the biggest release on either format so far.

Very doubtful that people won't have money for those movies.

Greek,

If you're serious about wanting someone to tell you why 58% is not a dissappointment,.. here's my take on it.

Any day now Blu Ray will have outsold HD DUD for a complete year. The last time HD DUD won a week was the week before x-mass nearly a full year ago. That's the last time HD DUD went 50 something. And since then Blu Ray has taken the prize. This week 58% is yet another winning week. As long as Blu Ray wins week after week,.. I'm not dissappointed.

If someone wants to look before the leap into HD Media they will find many compelling reasons to choose Blu Ray and the fact that week after week we show the HD DUD-ers they made the wrong choice is just one of those reasons.

no....Blu owners buy the latest movies....we get a lot of those and it shows...

hence why we win every week and also another reason why Blu is superior...

alright...so I was close with that "year straight" comment on winning weekly media sales..

I thought we started winning a week after the PS3 dropped...

lol, now you get to choose any 5 movies from that list of pretty darn good ones...(children of men, batman, bourne supremecy etc.)

So, 300 + bourne ID = $60
5 of choice instantly = $125
5 mail ins = $125
-----------------------------
$310

Cost of player $199

Profit from deal for consumer = $110........holy hell.

after that deal you just buy TF and you will probably never have to buy another HD-DVD disc again

PE on Blu-ray is 6th overall. Some of this has to be new player sales on both sides.

How does 300 still show up on the DUD side when in is in the box for their 3rd gen. players?

Possibilities could be:

Recent Walmart sales of 2nd gen players?

Not everyone who previously bought a 1st/2nd gen player bought a copy?

Where did you see it show up on the DUD side? It is not in the HD DVD top 10.

BTW, sales ratio for 300 this week is 71:29 roughly.

For what it's worth, this title doesn't even make it into retailers that are tracked via Nielsen. It's very limited in distribution AND the shipment came in late from Japan - it's just NOW shipping to retailers.

I swear some people would cry if blu-ray didn't have a single release while HD DVD had several day and date releases and blu-ray still took the week.
