I watched the UK Blu-ray last week. PQ is very good. I'm not sure why there is a 4 min. difference between the region B and region A releases, but I was a little surprised by Gemma Arterton's nude scenes after seeing her recently in Disney's Prince of Persia. She does get to do some real acting in this movie instead of simply look hot (in fact, she's rather de-glamorized). The ending doesn't quite live up to the first hour or so of the movie, but I would still recommend it.

Do you think it was actually her - or a body double - there seemed to be some clever editing I thought when viewing EXTREMELY closely !

Could have been a double for some shots, but not all of them.

I’m surprised there was so much forum discussion on the indie movie "Frozen", but there isn’t much talk about “The Disappearance of Alice Creed”.

I mean, “Alice Creed” received much better reviews from people and critics alike than “Frozen”:

Metacritic:
Frozen = 43
Alice Creed = 65

Rotten Tomatoes:
Frozen = 61
Alice Creed = 80

I’m just looking for some forum feedback on Alice Creed because, like Frozen, I never heard of it until I saw it featured as a trailer on a newly purchased Blu-ray disc.

Is Alice Creed an awesome movie?

I wouldn't go as far as "awesome", but if you can appreciate good British acting then this is for you. The film hardly takes you anywhere, but there's some powerful scenes with an unexpected twist (well, it was for me) to round it off.

I dont mind British films...

I wonder where I saw the trailer? Maybe on my Bluray of THE SQUARE? I cant remember.

All I know is a reminder popped-up (which I set months ago) to look into renting this now... But it's not rentable at my local place.

However, it is at Best Buy 'round the block... But I dont support blind buying. I support "buying what you like"... But not throwing money away if I hate it.

Alice Creed is an awesome film. It's one of the best discs I've picked up this year. It was a blind buy for me and loved it, I highly recommend picking it up.
